tax was up yesterday..

just wrote the cheque to send off to coilsprings for my custom rear springs..

then got to book the courier to go and collect some wheels..

and its booked in a local custom exhaust place to have a few bits done on the exhaust, so it sits nice and high etc so it gives me some clearance..

will get pics when its in exhaust place on tuesday

cheers mate, exhaust aint going to be nothing special really, just having bits chopped and moved around so it doesnt scrape etc, also having the middle silencer removed (similar to what i had done on my silver corsa, but had a remus middle section on that)

yer coilovers are fine, chuffed with how they are so far tbh (touch wood)..

erm not sure what you mean by recommend dude..

but you need to use a few bits off the standard suspension, in order to get them right (as i found out)

get the tracking done after fitting them, and make sure underneath you have clearance (ie exhaust hanging low)

but shouldnt be back as there only 60mm rear etc..

recommend things because i see you had problems with knocking and what not and not sure if its easy fixs or not
and oh sounds good, have to keep that in mind when i lower it
and my back ones will be 80mm so bit lower then the ones provided

yer, 60mm ishl front and 80mm rear i wouldnt say you will run in to many/if no problems tbh..

on the fronts, you need to use all the upper top mount from the standard shocks, a rubber spacer in the top mounts on the front, use the standard bumpstops from standard shocks, and make sure you grease the threads up well as they sieze easy..

the rears, you need need the top of the standard dampers (bit that goes through the body), and i modifed the metal tube (cut it down) so i could get a decent amount of thread to tighten it up..

so not just bolt on stuff tbh..

thanks mate..

little update:

well first thing this morning i sent off the cheque to coilsprings for my custom rear springs (going to take 15 working days tho :S but hay still here before pvs)

also took my car down to a local custom exhaust place..

heres some pics of what i had done.

had the cat, two big exhaust brackets and the middle silencer chopped out, and a straight pipe bent and fit into place..

sits perfect, nice and high for when it goes lower, but it sounds shite now though, as it sounds very tinny because of the standard backbox, so just won me this..

sportex 3" outrolled what i had on the white one, just needs abit of buffing with the autosol

will update again when i have a few things arrive

i know thats really what i didnt want at all, but it needed to be done, i tryed smaller exhaust rubbers and it just banged underneath, the cat just sat to low, if i wouldnt have it off now, it would have been ripped off at a later date..

thats why i was after a magnex backbox as i know they dont give off much sound, but couldnt turn this down at the price tbh..

only time will tell when its fitted anyway..

function over form i say..

You could prob have a small bullet centre silencer put in easily where the pipe sits high up around the central heat sheild... I've only got a bullet silencer on mine and it makes sure I get no rasp... probably a worthy addition, will still be raspy with no cat though

Mine:

As you can see it's still up outta the way

thats spot on dave, thanks alot for that

i could try and get a small silencer from another car to stick in place

jay, im not sure what bore it is mate, he just matched it up with the standard pipe so it looks neat

x14xe ry, as ive been there a few times, and got the same chap to do it (as i know hes good at his job) i had all the work done for 30 notes, i mean you cant grumble with that tbh

I never realised it was so tucked up till I looked at those old pics haha.

My car aint that low but my cat and mainly the lowest angled flange twats the floor a lot

Bear in mind I had a magnex decat with that centre pipe (powerflow made it for me so clears back axle well too, I've had the car full and it wont touch ) and a not too silenced backbox and it went from deep and bassy to rather raspy

But, I've got a magnex backbox now (quite heavily silenced as you say) and it's quieter with cat in place so dunno what it'd be like decatted... was gonna do it but just gonna sell the car
