I was going to get a £1000 loan and pay it back about £200-£250 a month, depending on the hours i get at work.

why not just save the money you would be paying off the loan with as you wont be paying back just the 1k so youd be saving money.

and any car modification isnt worth getting a loan [/old]

Because i want it XE'ing for Combe/Trax


but it is a bit rediculous to get a 1k loan to buy an engine unless your is fucked and broken, as the interest/repayment costs will be more than 1k in the end so your wasting alot of money for something that isnt NEEDED imo it would be best to save up and buy it.

and im also assuming the 1k would cover insurance + fitting or would that be on top? if they would be on top then definatly wouldnt bother.

[worst case]plus you never know whats round the corner with your job ie you could go to trax, break the car or hurt yourself inwhich case you still have the load to pay back and may not be able to work/pay it back [/worst case]

Maybe not grown up, just sensible. As Matt said, if you suddenly have the expense of it breaking, or you loosing a job and the commitment of repayments, not a good thing. However if you have saved for it and then it all goes tits up, you dont have the repayment worries.

Meh, i have saving savings if things got really bad. If they did, i'd suffer the consiquences and sell the engine/car..
