My dad was going on about wanting a D-SLR while we were on holiday, but I was telling him it's a waste of money because he has a Fuji bridge camera at the moment, and only ever uses it on Auto mode 20 or so years ago he had an old school SLR and used to go out with my uncle (his brother in law) and take pics, but seeing as said uncle lives in Hong Kong most of the time, that's kind of hard
Just trying to stop him making a stupid mistake and wasting hundreds of pounds on something that will spend its life in Auto mode. Even if he would sell me his camera

Yeah, even though I said to at least try and play with the settings so you can get used to it before getting an SLR, he still didn't  I don't know if it's arrogance, ignorance, stubbornness or stupidity. Or all of the above.
