Just keep in mind that IF you are also going to use Ferodo pads....Get the ds2500 ones and not the ds3000 as the ds3000 need to be warm to perform. Not ideal for street use....ds2500 bite on demand.

Cheers

Fiat coupe discs are listed as 284mm,ive had 2 sets and both were measured at 288mm.

The PCD is 4x98.They still bolt up fine to 4x100 Vauxhall hubs.No problems on that front.

The centre bore is slightly larger on the fiat discs so in thoery you would need spigot rings to hold them central. But from experience on 2 occasions(mk3 astra gsi and corsa sport) they DO NOT cause brake judder. My mates have used them umpteen times on road and track cars with no reports of brake judder either.

I understand why you aren't sure, not as if you've been told on every page in here exactly what to buy.

for road use i dont see why valvers with a set of fast road pads such as red stuffs, some decent blank discs, some braided lines and dot5.1 fluid wouldent be more than enough.

i had valver brakes with black diamond drilled and grooved and some mintex fast road pads, used to stop me just fine.

You were doing well until you mentioned red stuff pads

OEM>EBC Redstuff.

people think biggerbrakes automatically mean better, a changeof fluid and some braided lines will improve peoal feel no end.

if you think OEM compound pads will perform better than something such as red stuff on a good hard quick drive then fair enough but i think thats shite.

Ive had redstuff pads in a set of Hi-spec 4 pots with 300mm discs on my old Pulsar and they were shite on and off track. No bite what so ever, dangerous from cold, and when they were warmed up they werent any better. No feel to them atall and not as bitey as decent pads should be.

My old XE Corsa with turbo calipers,288s and OEM pads were better.Worked perfect hot or cold.

nooffence, but hi-spec calipers are utter shite, wouldent have a set of hi-specs if they were given to me if am honest.

the only plus side to oem over red stuff is that they warm up ad get heat in them quicker.

red stuff are much harder to get to fade, low dust content, and are designed for track etc....

Disagree with that statement mate... the makers of hi-spec are ex wilwood engineers.. There spot on brakes.. Me and my mate have then and to be fair my mates drives nuts with them and they dont fade at all.

wilwood's arent exactly a good caliper either, want seals replacing far too much!!

would rather fit compbrake calipers, same money, better quality, less maintenance.

the only 4/6pot style calipers to have IMO are AP's, there what i will be using on my cossie once the rebuild is underway.

you get what you pay for.

in your opinion i'm wrong but i know where my money would be getting spent when it comes to brakes.

on a budget high spec or wilwood fair game, but for DECENT brakes.

AP or brembo without a doubt!

Hi spec stuff is far from utter shite bud.Have u even tried any of their brake kits??

I know what red stuff pads are designed for etc.

The reason they give off less brake dust is because they dont bite hard enough to cause any dust lmao.

Ap are the best but not cheap,
Hi-spec are exelent value for money and last years,
and brembo are crap and are over priced

never try'd wilwood but would exspect them to be like hispec

And thats coming from some one who has used them all matey

imo kid

had plenty of friends with hi-spec kits. every single one has given exactly the same feedback.

The majority of people i know run AP 4 or 6 pots and i've never heard one horror story off any of them. i'll be sticking with AP 6 pots.

the last statement about red stuff is a load of toss
