Wasnt even finished and there is a fuckup....
So today i changed the rad fan switch as it wasnt working since the engine refit, just one of those things i guess.
Got it changed, filled up the coolant, shut the bonnet, started the car and went inside to wait, stood up for a few mins talking and then while looking at my corsa through the window i notice white smoke, which i figured, Ahh just steam from the header tank, maybe its boiled over.
Casually walked out to the car, as i got around to the drivers side to turn the car off and pop the bonnet the smoke changes to grey/black smoke. Figured, maybe just the pump is smoking again, meh. Opened the bonnet and OHHHH FUCKKKKKKKK, flames next to the battery from the PAS pump wiring, quick panic and the watering can i had used to fill the water was emptied on the flames.
Seems the wiring directly off the pump has melted, maybe due to the thicker wire we used but seems weird as it wasnt that much thicker, it was just overkill as a piece of mind, it appears it was too much.
It dont look that bad, but ofc its new pump time, plus another £30 on all the wiring bits, not a happy bunny.
Looking back at the pic, its not as bad as i thought, but still manged to singe the bonnet sound deadening.
Fair amount of black smoke around too
Fucking hate this car atm. Another thing that happend today was a shelf FELL on me.....

Your fuse should have blown before the wire started melting. Before you put new pump find out what fuse you need to use as i imagine you had wrong one there.

Fuse poped as it burnt i think. Its 40 amp which is what a standard 106 is.
Its the pump wiring that melted, not my wiring. So you may be right, but even so.

That is for sure, cant wait to get the semi smooth boot on.
I would just remove the stickers but the missing paint underneath looks even worse.

Big update!
Been using the car daily now, full time... 4 New tyres fitted on the painted 5spokes (Im awaiting some centre cap stickers), Flat blade wipers and some other things have found there way onto the car.
Heres a few pics anyway, dirty as muck but proves its been used! and ive wanted some up to date pics of it anyway.
The PAS setup, does work, although ive fitted a switch so i can turn it on/off, which is ideal for motorway trips and stuff. Its due to the motor, or pump, making a grinding noise when you use it for long periods of time, but heres some pics of it, I am planning on moving the pump down about an inch or so, as the reservior setup isnt ideal.
Now im just waiting on a magnex backbox, and a couple of other small mods planned like a omega adjustable intermitten wipe setup and that should be mostly, the end of it.
Comments please
