That's a joke that chart. You are practically paying double for a tank when it was at its lowest.

Depressing when you look at it like that. But then wages have gone up since then, so it's all fairly relative to a certain extent.

one way to look at it is that its still cheaper than a litre of beer, coke or in some places even water

Have wages gone up double the amount? It doesn't seem relative to me at all...

And Coke is 50p/litre if you shop around and buy 2 litre bottles.

Don't worry, when our high speed rail network is complete we'll only be about 35 years behind the French

I do worry about it, especially with the new car Going to work out what MPG I've been getting when I next fill up, which will probably be middle of next week somewhere, if not sooner. Currently about 5 sixths of the way through the tank and done about 215 miles.

Is that chart even right?

I've been on diesel for 2 years near enough and would have started at the end of that chart and I've never paid anywhere near 1.28 a litre.

The most was about £1.20 and that didn't last for long, maybe a tank or two but not much more.

I wouldn't say I worry about it but I do try to maintain an average of high twenties in the week. I do about £350 miles a week just getting to and from work so I end up spending about £250 a month just on fuel

No.

My 2.0 diesel averages 29.4mpg. I have no idea why I bothered with a diesel

Dont worry about it no, cause at end of day, i NEED the car to commute etc, and therefor NEED petrol to run it, i dont even look at price when i go put it in, cause i need it, so havent got a choice

Altho i remember passing my test in 2006 and a 5er would last for driving about 17yr old style in my 1.4 Sport

I remember when I passed in 2006, sling a tenner in the tank and it would last foreverrrr

£10 at ~80p must have been 12 litres, in a 1.2 16v must have been 100-110 miles lol...

I do worry about fuel consumption, I am always trying to save on the fuel like riding my push bike for a short journey. I get around 35 mpg from my 1.4, so it's not that bad.

Although I have no income apart from student loans, which isnt alot in comparison to expenses.
