its a jack ? when they go to the workshop they dont have ramps made by maha, but unlike any other ramp they are felt lined, had a praye said over them and had whale spunk to lubricate the mechanisim
its a car, it has jacking points
A friends works for ferrari and he owns several halford jacks
Have you seen the top of a Halfords Jack? Its not like a nice blue point/snap-on with its rubber base.. Nice bit of cheap chinese cast steel to fuck up the under-steal.
All the weight accross the car supported on a 2" diameter piece of shitty powder coated steel:
Proper jack with a proper insert that wont fuck up the sill:
Call me pedantic but there is no way I'd jack up my £100k+ car with a £25 chinese built jack! In the same way I wouldn't fill my £100k car with halfords oil.. I dont have a problem with halfords stuff but I wouldnt use it on or in a £100k car

Don't take my comment seriously, I was taking the piss out of people laughing at a Halfords jack
I own a Halfords jack & toolkit, I don't see the issue tbh

Most of my tools are halfords advanced, but I'd not even jack up my ZT with a halfords jack

Exactly the majority of tools I own are halfords pro, but I wouldnt jack up either of my cars (both worth under a grand) with a halfords jack. I bought a sealey 3t jack brand new for 90 quid, one of the best tools ive bought.

Never had an issue with my Halfords Jack tbh and seeing as I put it on Axle stands I don't see what'd happen even if it did drop down

£100k Ferrari 360 / £4k Shitty Renault Megane for driving to work in.
Theres a difference!
Megane would get the halfords jack too, through the fucking floorpan if need be!

Its just a jack FFS Theres no difference in jacking a £100 pound shitter up and a 100K Ferrai with a shitty jack, if it lifts the car then whats the trouble

If the underneath of the 360 like my car then I wouldnt use that cheapo jack either. On my corsa and loads of other cars it was fine as you sit it so the lip on the sill fits in the jack so it wont slip off. On the VX there is no lip, its a completely flat ally floor with specific jacking points so i felt i needed a jack with a head similar to the blue point one Davey has posted.
A jack is indeed just a jack, its not a massivly complicated peice of engineering, as long as it looks in good working order and not going to slip off it doesnt really matter where its from or how much it costs.
