Buy a Mazda MPS like Graham, that can be a nutcase-mobile and will still be comfy

Sometimes I think I should have a proper car, I'm 22 and my 2l DTi Astra is the fastest thing Ive ever owned

But it means I can afford my house and I can get the dog in the boot

In answer to the thread title yes, you are mental. But only because you are SERIOUSLY considering the dangerous drop of 10mpg on fuel. I mean OMFG laddie you live at home, make a good wage and you own your car so no finance payments and you're still worrying about MPG. You and Deano are one and the same Sell the Mito and get an E39 M5. Or get a Cerbera and a daily driver!

You'd be mental to not sell your boring car to buy something fast.

Are you going to lose money doing this? Is the other car quicker? I have no interest in To's so don't know but if your going from something average to something average again I wouldn't bother.

What JR said. But even if that were the case of me having to pay for it, I'd still get more than Fadders over there

What this man said, does everything you are asking apart from the tax part. You can still get good MPG, I just don't because that's not what I bought the car for. My average is currently 21.5 which is quite high as I did a bit of motorway recently.

I don't get at all why people bother themselves about the tax rate. You already get massive amounts taken off you for the fuel you buy, why an extra £200 over a 'normal' car is an issue I don't know.

the stupid thing is, if my car was registered like 4 months earlier it would be like 220 a year? savage really but wont whinge about it, just pay it an enjoy it before roads get worse and more speed cameras come up and more rises in fuel! thats all i can say.

I'd begrudge paying £444 a year for tax tbh. I couldn't go to the Post Office and hand that over in return for a paper disc

i said to myself if i am going to pay £444 a year for a high emission car then i am going to burn tyres in my garden weekly, stick that in your economical climate pipe and smoke it.

Actually the thing I find annoying about the tax bracket I'm in, is that the 4wd fuel guzzling 4x4 things Mums drive to school in are only £10 a year more, that's a joke
