Tell them to look at settings/general/network/cellular data network and see if it's blank, if it is all they need to do is put the settings in.
O2 don't have any iPhone tariff apn settings only non iPhone tariff pay monthly and pay as you go.

Been running iOS4 for 24 hours now on my 3G, un-jailbroken. The battery life is much better, I think all the jailbreak stuff really messes with the phone after a while.

All I really wanted to do was to tether my iPhone, now I can't even do that and you don't have to be jailbroken anymore for it to work when I get my 4. No other phones really interest me though...

OS 4.0 safe to jailbreak yet?
EDIT : Nevermind, updated anyways. Defo running a little slower.
EDIT : Ah crap! Didn't realise not all apps work with 4.0 yet. Most of mine won't even sync to the phone due to an 'unknown' error

Nope, I downloaded a little hack that let me use tethering without paying for it. However iOS4 checks home to see if tethering is allowed and doesn't show you the option to turn it on if it isn't. The oly fix is to pay for it or to Jailbreak and I don't have an internet connection at home at the moment to Jailbreak it

I'm going back to an older firmware me thinks, 4.0 has made made my phone pretty much useless. The camera won't work anymore neither coz you press the button and nothing happens or it takes about a minute to register the press by then you have moved the phone so it takes a pic of ya feet or sumit.

Downgrading is a right ballache compared to upgrading. The mrs 3g was runnng slow so I restored it to factory and then setup as a new phone rather than using the backup, aswel as a couple of hard resets and now it's as fast as it was on 3.1.2.

Wouldn't say it was worth it, its supposedly a fix for the signal problems on the iPhone 4.
If you have a 3G or 3GS, I don't think its any different.

The 3G / 3GS have the same 'problem' if you count the problem as displaying the bars incorrectly.
Everyone bar apple knows the way the bars are display is not 'the' problem most are talking about.
....and it sems there is more in there too as many 3G/3GS owners are finding thier phone reboot mid-call now!

Mine was running slow as fuck after updating so I've restored and jailbroken again, this time disabling multitasking and background pics and so far its running much better.
