Davey:
Half decent bodyshop / valeter (supposedly) bottom half of bootlid, me top half.
MOST bodyshops don't seem capable of leaving a hologramme finish! Tom is one of the only ones I've found who is any good with a mop!

Even if i ever win the Lottery etc i'll still clean my own car/cars..always have always will.

Thats someone getting jiggy with the G3 and not bothering to move onto a softer head and polish ..
Can I ask though.. How much did you pay for the job? A lot of people want a 'cheap job' then get picky about the finsh...

I'd love to see a start to finish time lapse that adds up to quoted hours

i wonder if the paint has been corrected as much as the pictures have in photoshop? There is a lot of e-detail visible.

granted there is skill etc
But you need to look at this context
The guy had a 50k+ car and didnt look after it - So not suprised he would pay 2.5k to have it corrected - just stupidity
However no matter how much you after the car it will end up with cleaning stratches etc so why pay so much
like people have said - get it detailed but pay alot less becuase there is no way that car will stey in that condition

I'm thinking this also.
It's cool saying it took 92 hours on DW but in reality the quciker they do it the quicker they get onto the next car.

You really think somebody would spray this car for £2.5k?
And even if they do, there will still be paint imperfections!

could get it painted at bmw own bodyshop approved repair place for 2.5 then photoshop the shine to make it look better like whats done in them pics.

Whilst I do think spending £2.5k is ridiculous you just won't get this level of shine from a respray plus a respray will de-value the car, this will put the value up.

what planet are you on, not far of 2.5k for a full respray on an m3, have you ever seen decent bodyshop prices, let alone the laubour for the stripping and putting back together, your looking at double that atleast

Its not always possible to remove 100% of the imperfections. You also want to leave as much paint on the car as possible so any future imperfections can be removed.
Nic, as usual you're making yourself sound like a narrow minded arse.
For those saying they'd rather get a respray, that still wouldn't leave a finish as perfect and smooth as a skilled machine polisher could.
