My mate had a 214 the same shape as that green thing posted earlier, the head gasket went on it after about 40k iirc and the interior was falling to bits. Even the covers over the speakers fell off, then one of the speakers died. The sunroof leaked, the boot leaked extremely badly, the driver's window partially fell off you to get it all the way up you had to manipulate it with the key, and then the air filter fell off and the engine exploded.

One thing that would always make me laugh is that if you shut the slidey thing under the sunroof, it would open again when you pull away

so all that "one of the best handling chassis" stuff is bullshit?

It's meant to be the best in the MG range, so the others must be awful.

Remove engine from ZR160 and place in smaller car!

The eagled eyed amongst you will notice that the second one isn't a VVC engine but it does have one ready to go in as and when!

MG = Massive Gay my mate bought a 105 version and i couldnt understand why you would buy a car that had such a massive problem and it wasn't resolved from the factory, they knew they had the HG problem but still built them the same. Thats why companies like ROVER fail.

My mate had one of these for a while. It looked ok from the outside to be fair but inside was awful! Cheap, tacky, falling apart. Things kept going faulty. It was just a bad car!

As i said before, My dad has one ( since 2006 i think).
It's on 80k now.

On original head gasket. Passed all it's MOT without major problems:
1st one when car was 3 yrs old - sailed through.
2nd - rear number plate bulb needed replacing
3rd - rear number plate bulb gone again, new numberplates required
4th - new discs and pads, headlight adjustment.
