blame jacko, it was his car previously
Do think it's a bit shit you've been sold a dog of a well know member on here.
Yeah it's a bit of a bummer. But you have bought an old modified car and will have to deal with it. If you wanted warranty you should have bought from a dealer. I've always boiught from dealers as i haven't the slightest about cars and don't really have the time to learn new skills.
Seen photos of the car when you bought it and looked really nice, especially for what you payed for the motor. The lad who sold you the car is not in the wrong, it's bought as seen.
With regards some badger who has fucked up some work on your car, cut your losses and use a garage you trust and family members have used in the past. I've used 3 garages in the past, all done decent work. One a mate recommended for an MOT, the garage my mates Dad works at and a garage my Dad used for a couple of years. Rest of the time i've used main dealers as my motors have never been more than 3 years old for the past 9 years. Try and do as much as you can yourself as well if you have time to learn. I personally don't think you're thick, maybe young and stupid but that will come with life experience.

You dont realise how annoyed I am
I had to borrow the money off my mum to pay for the car. (£1700)
still paying her back
I work so hard for my money, have 2 part time jobs, had to borrow another £700 off her for the headgasket
Now this
and I dont know what to do

posting in the right section

For the people that don't know, here is the story
Well I bought this car about 3 months ago

a few days after I bought it, it started to over heat.
So I took it to the garage and they said it needed a new rad.
days after they fitted that it was still over heating.
So I took it to another garage and they said it needed a new Headgasket.
He also changed the cambelt, and oil filter
Car now has been running ok
But since he fitted all that I seem to have been topping alot of oil
Maybe a Liter every 3 weeks.
And last week my mate said blue smoke was coming out the exhaust.
Also, my Engine management light has been coming on and off recently
I really dont know what to do.
It is such a nice car, but stuff keeps going wrong.
I spent £120 on the rad
£650 on the headgasket etc

and £1700 on the car
I really don't want to get rid of it, cos I love it!
I took the car back to the garage and told him whats been happening, he just told me to monitor the oil levels..
so..
Over the past week I have been keeping an eye on the oil levels
Saturday 3rd July - 2l of oil put in as it was showing low (89,900 miles)
Wednesday 7th July - Showing full on dipstick (89,964 miles)
Friday 9th July (today) After doing an 100 miles round trip my oil is now showing low (90,145 miles)
So in under a week my car has nearly gone through 2 Liters of oil
The car isnt leaking oil, as I have checked under the car, so it is burning it.
so, over to you
and I am not made of money
I will have trouble selling the car wont I if I decide to do that, but I dont want to.

Well take this as a lesson in life. Do what we do and save up for a car then buy it... You clearly dont work hard enough, i work 'hard' and earn myself a tidy £18k
