Cheers Paul yeah no probs i'll hopefully get out to a few meets anyways.

Dale, no sorry mate as i've been ill this weekend so didn't get a chance to do anything with the car. i'll explain anyway

I used 2 strips of metal (which you can bolt to the front cross member if you've no access to a welder) to create a bracket underneath the intercooler to support it and stop it from moving up aor down.

And where the front crash bar bolts i used a strip of metal from there right accross to the top of the intercooler and it measured up and worked well with the existing mounting lugs on the cooler.

End of January update:

Its been a while since i've updated this but thought i'd better now i've a few photo's to show and some time on the laptop
I havent made as much progress as i'd have liked, this is due to a few running problems and waiting for parts to arrive, but i'll explain that later .. now on to the pics

Stainless exhaust system, 2 1/2 inch bore from the turbo downpipe, 2 silencer box's with a inwardly rolled 3" tailpipe

Auto Gauge's, I've got oil pressure, oil temperature, Boost

Fittings for the oil temp/pressure guages, I'm using these to keep the senders out of the way of the drive shafts etc. which will make it a bit safer imo

Drive shafts, New C.V boots have been fitted .. what a messy job that is

Hubs, Polybushed lower arms, tie bars and ARB, cleaned and painted up black

8 " Slim Line fans fitted

Engine All plumbed in and ready to run

Front end stripped down for the shafts, hubs and lower arms

And fitted

Still a fair bit to do but its getting there.
Now i mentioned earlier that i've been having running problems, I've wired up as stated (colour for colour) but i've now got no EML, fuel or spark (engine turns over)
I've replaced the fuel relay, had the CPS out cleaned and re-fitted, checked the earths, tried 2 ECU's but still no joy

Got a crank sensor you can try? If its not working, it wont pump fuel.

Cheers Marc

AW06, Ideally i need to order a new one to try, not sure if this would cause the no EML or spark aswell?
The one currently in the block looks to be a replacement part (plastic) rather than standard genuine metal one, I've heard a few stories of these being a common fault

Later ones are plastic, Its not just a pattern part.

I'm not sure if the lack of spark is crank sensor related or not, Was just ignoring the EML. I'd check all the wiring twice over though.

Edit: Mate of mine agrees, try changing the crank sensor.

Hey mate, I'll explain a bit more just incase you/someone could give me anymore pointers.

the car has been wired in as per this:
http://www.corsa-d.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=535230

Basically colour for colour in the drivers footwell
switched ignition has been connected from footwell to the single pin connector near the dizzy
Permanent live has been connected to the battery
Earths on the fuel rail have been cleaned and checked
Gearbox to chasis earth fitted
Battery to chasis & also tried a seperate earth to the head

Engine now turns over fine But i have no EML on the dash when the ignition is turned
I've got no spark or Fuel to the rail

So far i have changed, Dizzy, Rotor, 2xFuel Relay's, Coil, Plugs, Leads, Had the Crank sensor out, check and cleaned (new one is on order), Tried a HD type ecu (with with chips fitted) and a standard PJ type ecu.

but still no joy.

Changed a fair lot then . Crank sensor would be my point of call. Make sure you get the right one though as there are two different types. Did you hear your engine running before you bought it? If not perhaps the previous owner swapped the crank sensor for the other type?
