I'd have kicked off, if all else failed I'd take a tenners worth of pick and nix and walk out the door.
We usually go to the odeon, you're allocated a seat and we go a good hour before the film starts and get tickets, then go to the pub for a few

Davey, did you ask for your money back at the end of the film or at the beginning? There's a big difference.
Our cinemas are Cineworld and in their T&C's you can get a full refund without question as long as you do so within the first 20mins of the movie iirc.

Their T&C's can not superceed Trading standards
If you are not happy with goods or a service you are entitled to a refund or a credit note.
I wasnt happy with the service.
For example you could buy a sandwich, eat the whole thing and decide you didnt like it then get a refund.

I very much doubt it!
Sounds like a standard issue email! I'd be surprised if you got complimentary tickets!

Not strictly true.
You have to prove that that the goods or service you purchased was not fit for purpose. A restaurant would argue that because you ate it all then it was fit for purpose, and they'd probably win unless you could think up a reason why you had to eat it all to find out.
