Oh good to hear Toby, I'm very sore at the moment buy I think that is because I keep dosing off and not pressing my morphine button.
I'm kinda stuck in one position as I don't want to move and disrupt I.
I've got crohns Toby btw.

My advise is although you won't want (Ian right in thinking that they opened you up like they did me, my scar is about 10 inch) to is start moving about ASAP and try and get off the morphine as it will help speed your guts up and get then active again, after my epidural didn't work they hooked me up to the drip but the pain was nothing compared to what I was in before so ditched it by the afternoon on day 2. I (stupidly) decided to have my op two weeks before Christmas but they could only fit me on the 19th, they originally booked me in for 8 days, I came out at lunch time on the 4th. No meds after that and been fine for two years and I have lived just like before.

Not only find, you feel, I felt best I had in months within 24 hours (not cos I was taking advantage of the free morphine)

I was shitting myself when I went for surgery, I had some surgery done on my chest a few months back, never slept the night before.
Worst thing was, I live in the sticks so I had to go to the specialists for the surgery 200miles from home, so no family etc with me 
All went okay though and afterwards you kinda worry what all the worrying was about.

In hospital you will not shit.
After my chest operation I didn't drop the kids off at the pool for 2 weeks.
they gave me some laxitives and I shit though the eye of a needle for a week.
