He has considdered a Ferrari or Lamborghini in the past, but my dad is a practical and money concious person. The running costs of a 355 would be far more than he'd like, plus the nearest Ferrari or Lambo garage is in Edinburgh.
At least this car can be serviced at Arnold Clark.
To be honest i'd rather he bought an Atom, Caterham or something similar, but he's getting older and doesn't feel safe in something like that.

That would have been cool, however the RS500 would make mincemeat out of an Escort Cosworth, and at the end of the day he's got a 3 year warranty with the Focus.

Technically yes, but the 500 won't lose much money. It might even make money.
The RS500 isn't going to get used much. Maybe one or two thousand miles a year (if that).
At least he's still got the white one he can play with.

I overheard a pair of window cleaners walking past my car which was parked on the drive today, one muttered to the other 'fuck me thats minted, were in the wrong business!!'
I can honestly say ive had more admirers of the RS in a week & a half than I had of the M3 in a year & half.
Only thing I dont like/think up to much is the stereo system......sounds like the portable alba set-up I had in my bedroom when I was 10.

Theres folk willing to pay circa 45k for them atm....mental!!
I like them but I wouldnt want to spend over early 20's for one, same as I did with mine. At 12months old mines cost £7500 less than a new one (same spec) & people expected them to hold value well. Will be interesting to see how prices fair with the RS500!!

I'm gonna get a bit personal here... If my dad had all that money and was so into cars I'd be expecting a nice car to drive! FFS he could at least get you a nice 182 Clio or something for 5K! He must be like the very rich people I know... A bit of a twat.
I'd be taking the wrap off personally as it looks cheap.

Jesus His dad has probably worked hard all his life (i'm assuming) and he's at the stage in his life where he has money to get things he wants. He's been spending on his kids for the last 20 years or whatever.
You two just sound like a bunch of sulky ungrateful bitches that just want everything bought by daddy

Maybe he doesn't want to live off handouts from his dad or maybe his dad brought him up so he doesn't come to him for cash everytime he wants something new, nothing wrong with that.

Define' handout' then as if his dad buys/gives him a car then I think that falls in to the catagory of a handout.
