Go on tell
The weathers been perfect here, not to boast or anything! However I have got to wash, polish and wax the in laws car tomorrow, so fingers crossed the weather will be good
Is it anything to do with colour coded bumpers? Wheels?
Different engine?

Got a bit of a clear spell here and got a coat on them but didn't get any stripping done, had to come in and watch F1 hopefully its clear tomorrow then we'll be cooking

It includes all them things you mentioned , and a couple of other bits but I'm not getting my hopes up yet. It'll be around 2 weeks at the least before the police give the go ahead for scrap, then at that point we can by it for parts as long as its not going on the road again.

Shame the insurance is so expensive otherwise you could have swapped the engine over

Nah its flame red would've been nice if it was star silver but with them already being cc'd it'll be easier to paint as don't need to get rid of the dimples will still keep an eye out for a silver one though, will save a lot of work.

It has Astra GSi fans, probably one of my favourite wheels for Corsas. Engine is an XE. Has strut braces, don't know what suspension yet.

If its going for scrap we would get for between 1 - £200

Nothings definite yet but its looking good

Yea but it could still go either way

Weather was better today, stripped of the old suspension and painted the new parts, just waiting on the paint going off before I can start rebuilding

Currently sitting like this, had to improvise for axle stands

Not to far of now

Just about done. 2 13mm nuts to tighten the stick the wheels back on. Then get it out for a run for them to settle a bit

Dragged my self out of today to get it finished, just had to put a couple of nuts on under the bonnet and double check everything.

The day started with 2 pictures to show my sexy paint job,

Then I took some boring pics with its boring scenery, need to get it out and get some better ones, Anyways,

Need to take it over the back road to get them to settle down a bit. Doesn't look as good in the pics as it does down there ah well I'm chuffed with it! starting to feel as if its getting somewhere now!

Looks a lot, lot better now its sat down mate
Looks about the same height as mine is on those wheels? same tyres and everything :S
Hoping that you haven't been ripped off and given -40 springs? I know they've still got to settle but it doesn't look that low
It does look a lot better though and I'm liking it A lot

You should paint the bumpers tbh mate, you already have colour coded arches

Much better though What suspension setup is it? Looks a bit like 40mm to me but if it's note been driven much yet then it might go down a little bit more. Plus the sloped drive will make the front look higher.

You've probably seen this pic a million times, but this was mine at 60mm with a full Apex kit.

I bloody hope its not only a -40 kit , theres nothing I can do about it now but I'm still not %100. It sits roughly the same as yours at the back Dave with the top of the tyre in the arch. Maybe its because of the mahoosive tyres it looks different? And in the above pics the fronts had only been fitted about 30mins before pics.

@ the colour coded arches , I was actually thinking that today that they looked silver(ish) Thats the next thing I'll probably be doing, getting the gun on them and some AG bumper care, see what they come up like

Yea it looks roughly the same as yours, strangely people say looks -40 and yours looks -60 though mustn't look that similar

Cheers for the kind comments, makes it feel worth it that people like it

I dont know mate, its probably the angle the picture was taken at... for example this...

Looks similar in that I think?
Anyway, I hope the fronts settle down after being driven, as like you said they had only been fitted 30 mins before! And don't use the heat gun when the plastics are wet, apparently it doesn't work all to great

I presume the tyres are 185/55? It only looks 40 as i had the same wheels and tyres on my 12v.

Pier yours is at least 50mm, if not 60.
Daves looks a bit different due to the 16inchers.

They are 195/55 tyres, same as mine :S
I'm absolutely positive I bought 40mm springs and it even said in the box -40mm
Its even on standard shocks so its sitting higher than it should be! :S
Oh well
I was going to say daves is 16's!
However, back onto subject, I think this car will turn out great
Like he has said before, it needs tidying up here and there but its getting there and its looking good already

Sure it wasnt a Sport -40? As sports are already 15/20mm lower.

Shocks wont matter unless its sat on the bump stops.

they might have been sport springs actually! I thought only the Gsi was lowered about -20mm?
Oh well, maybe thats why my friends car isn't sitting as low as mine on the same springs and same shocks because his is a Sri

Yea tyres are 195/55 as Piér said. I'm not going to post a million comments about it, I'm happy with the way it looks so I'm not worried tbh. I can always change them later if I want to go lower, but for the time being I'm happy with them
