has anyone tried playin this on manual yet? im still struggling to get to grips with the way it drives

This. Just completed the first race in 6th place but coz I got hit twice, I gotta 20 penalty sec which puts me in last place

Im getting pissed off with the penalty system, if you take a bit too much kerb your fecked with a time penalty, even if its to avoid a car incident etc!
If you go up the inside of somebody and they turn in on you you get a drive thru! WTF!
You just cant stay on the racing line if your behind anyone because they brake so early you will end up sat on top of them

Yeah, I haven't even done the very first race yet coz I either get battered or do well but get penalties for them hitting me or me tapping them. Not liking this at all, not like a race is quick neither. Go all thru that just to come last due to penalties

Also when you try to brake there is a delay between pulling the trigger and the car actually slowing down and when you turn in its not instant like it should be.
And im on round 12 now and now one car has retired due to problems with the car, and there is no safety car.
Championship edition was much more realistic, i know its not a sim but its not even got the basics right, they might as well of put mario kart style weapons evrywhere.

I got disqualified from my race today , I powered up to much coming out of a turn, ended up facing the wrong way OFF the racing line, I waited for the traffic to go pass but I got DSQ.
What did it want me to do? Spin back round onto the racing line when the whole field was flying through

Got this yesterday on the 360 - there is a weird delay between both the accelerator and the brake.
AI cars are all over the shot - one second they're taking the same line as you and the next they look like they're trying to turn around and go backwards.
It's addictive though.
edit: NobleOne, if you've got the lines enabled then take every corner when it's a slight orange colour, don't slow down to when it's green, you'll fly around and get in pole easily. It's easier to do when the car is setup on the auto settings 1 from the right (in Race Engineer).

god does anyone try the game out first before complaining? theres a delay because you have to develop the car thru out the season. try a time trial using the mclaren and see the difference

The delay is nothing to do with the development of the car. It doesnt matter what mode your in career, time trial grand prix, there is a delay in throttle and braking controls.
Now I know why there was no demo for this game, as no1 would have bought it, its riddled with bugs and doesnt appear to have been play tested all that much, hoping for a patch that will improve the AI as well.

dont you think its ridiculous that the opponents time is all staged, its made up nothinig to do with how they are actually going round the track.
even talk that the cars just pop up when you are near!

Think I've had enuff of this game already.
I'm on the second race in career and in the last 5 mins, I've had to restart it 3 times coz the AI keep hitting me and I'm getting penalties for it. Grrr...

see now i dont get where all these things are coming from ive got it set on hard im playing tghe game on long race weekend etc and ive been on pole twice and have had 3 1st place finishes i have ntoiced the time delay between breaking etc bu not the accelerating bit ive really enjoyed the game so far lots of characteristics from real f1 have been incorperated
