from my opinion i really dont see the appeal in them .
been in the 3series compact with the 2l derv in it and tbf power was nice but interior is just dreadful imo,
driven the 320i numerous times and its just unbelievable underpowered imo, and the interior is dreadful.
and my mate currently has a 325 the older shape one, and power + sound is nice but again interior is dreadful.

I got a free leather oil bag, gloves, funnels, wipes for buying some stuff from a dealer, you would never get freebees for ford/vauxhall etc.
True. The dealers are better at BMW & Audi etc. BUT you have paid the extra for it in the price.
At the Vauxhall dealer here it's hard to get a courtesy car off them and they were wanting me to pay for the insurance to drive it, only a 1.2 Corsa D too Piss take. Whereas Audi don't think twice about dishing about 30k+ cars to me and provide the insurance free of charge. Thats the way it should be.

Yeah I noticed this. At Vauxhall it was always a battle to get a courtesy car but with Audi its assumed you'd want one.
Also I got free bottle of oil in a pouch with gloves etc when I bought the car. I then also went in to get my personalised plates made and fitted up for free, because the dealership had wanted to rush the purchase through to hit figures, so couldnt get them registered to the Audi before I collected it. When I got home I found another pouch in my boot with oil etc in it!

If you red this weeks Autocar, M3 competition pack beats Megane250, Westfield, Lambo, RS5, GTR as best drivers car 2010.
This is what alot of people fail to see, its not always the quickest in a straight line or the most expensive or the most grip. Its what is the most rewarding, balanced, poised fun car that will get the title.
This is what BMW (And Renault for that matter!) Excell at.
Thats why they are so popular. Its all about the dynamics, coupled with build quality, styel and comfort.

Had a few high end cars now and I cant believe how BMW can make a near 2 ton saloon have the nimbleness of a hot hatch with the straight line speed of a Ferrari! Not only that it's loaded with toys, is comfy and is easy to drive going slow as well as going fast!
Looks are down to opinion, I like it because its subtle and looks barely different to a 520d, some might hate that though!?
Other cars Id compare it to that couldve bought:
Audi RS6 - Fuckin awful auto box and feels bargelike in comparison
Merc AMG - Again, handling wasnt great and the reliability issues worry me
Conti GT - Would love one but the ones in my price range were shitters and had moon miles

i love my E30 - best car i've owned to date...and next year, it'll be well worth the money i'll be putting into it.
Looks great, is mega comfy, easy and fun to drive and has more 'little things' than most modern cars. Oh...plus that big thing that modern cars (and audis in general) dont have - character.

Yours only has 'character' as its old and you don't see them anymore, back in the late 80's / early 90's it was only as special as an E46 is now - i.e not very

go for a coupe diesel fantastic engines those are, speed wise there no different to the petrol and once mapped a hell of alot quicker still with double the mpg of the petrol
