most coilover kits are specced for rally cars who want a fairly soft rear setup, for tarmac and circuit work you want the poundage up, as it hells keep the inside front wheel on the ground(imagine as the cornering forces cross the car diagonally as you load it up, harder springs mean the front lifts less under acceleration/lateral loading) people often complain hard springs are crashy as the damper isn’t valved right, hence damping adjustability on a coilover is a must!

same reason, albeit achieved differently, that you fit a stiff rear bar too, the rear probably affects turn in more than the front to a point!

I made a thread on PNG a while ago about using hard rear springs, some people said it was good on track

iirc spanishfly was using 450 on the back and 300 on the front

spanish had 350s in the back iirc, he would probably have ended up with 400s though

We use 700lb all round on one car, and about 450F, 400R on the Impreza.

Impreza will need harded springs - but it has been revalved to take them!

Small engine on the cheap, drive it fast.

Why you would want thousands of pounds in a car you're going to lash about I'm not clear.

They'll brake and turn in the same regardless of how much power it has.

Grunt in a straight line is for people who can't drive around corners.

sump off, fit ARP rod bolts. Whilst doing cams swap to metal rollers. Also look into a baffled sump whilst your planning....
