01/02 - 14th
02/03 - 12th
03/04 - 7th
04/05 - 11th
05/06 - 13th ( won 6 out of first 7, lost 5 of last 6)
relegated without him in 06/07

that's a decent record in my eyes..

Alright record with Charlton given his resources, shite record with West Ham given his resources and a worse win ratio with both than Hughton's at Newcastle

The West Ham team he kept up should have never been in that position in the first place and had the likes of Tevez and Mascherano then he had a £30m kitty the following season, as much as he appears a nice bloke I still maintain he'd be no better an option than Hughton

Both dad and I were surprised, we thought he was doing well with what he had. The board clearly don't realise that instant success isn't what to aim for, take man city for example.

Well it looks like alot of palace fans are calling for Burleys head in favour of Hughton... (I'm not one of them, but Hughton would be a good choice if Burley was to go)

To be fair I don't think anyone at the club is looking for instant success and whilst I hate Ashley with a passion for his lack of consideration and general arrogance he did seem to be steadying the ship both financially and on the pitch. I can only assume that he only ever saw Hughton as temporary measure and that he didn't feel he was the right person to take us forward. Whilst I have a tendency to think his decision to get rid of Hughton was more than premature on more than one occasion this season he has shown his tactical naivety in defeats against opponents that I'd consider of a lower or similar standard and maybe that's were the clubs line of wanting a more experienced manager has stemmed from. It just a shame that the club has again went about it's business in such a shameful manner, from a personal standpoint even if Hughton was on borrowed time they should at least given him until the end of the season.

They should have given him a season in the Premier League at least to reward him sorting the team out and dragging them back into the big time.
