My Astra needs T99 and I dont feel right filling up the Mini with 95 it just feels wrong.
Maybe if the car has been mapped to run specifically on super then it's 'needed' to get the most out of it performance wise. But to claim that normal fuel would actually cause damage is you showing that you know fuck all in this case.

Ok I know nothing, Thorney/Regal/Courtenay all recommend that you run the standard Corsa VXR on super unleaded.

AMD told me it was dangerous to run my LCR on standard fuel once it was mapped on high octance.

Yes, because a Ferrari 458 is an exclusive car and going by what I can find they only make about 3-4000 cars a year. Vauxhall, on the other hand, produce mid-range hatchbacks that sell tens of thousands a year. And that's before you even look at the engines - 4.5 N/A V8 with about 570bhp vs a 2.0 turbo with 240bhp. Do the maths.

That advice from Regal could be as reliable as the rollers

Why when I suggested Regal/ Courtenay as backing up something I once said all I got was people laughing at me? They're not exactly the most reputable places apparently, not so sure on Thorney.
But the question is, did they say it would cause damage if you didn't run them on super? I doubt it beause they would have made themselves look like right idiots.

This is what I was saying, I could understand that. But to actually suggest that a standard, factory fresh Corsa/ Astra VXR absolutely NEEDS super is just internet speak.

Would say it would be beneficial to run them on 99 even standard, one of the new shape leon tfsi's ran an extra 15bhp more on 99 than it did on 95. That was a standard car.

When we first picked ours up we could only put 95 in it as they had run out of super and I must admit it did feel quite a bit better on 99

I just don't believe that ollie, Vauxhall would sell a car that won't run smoothly on the fuel that 90% of owners will put in it (percentage pulled from thin air)
Do they sell VXR's in countries where higher octane fuel is even harder to come by, do they change the map?

I bet when you pick up a brand new VXR it just has normal 95 RON petrol in the tank

TBF, for about the last 2 months ive run on v power. I think it idles smoother.
Speed - i dont know; its been wet and you just get alot of wheel spin
MPG - i know the cold weather doesnt help, but im not doing great mpg atm, and it has warmed up so would expect better.
It just makes me feel superior at the pumps. I think its a men of men thing.
I ran 95 in the summer, and felt no difference. I thought on a cool summers night on 99 it felt better. I think outside tempreture has more of an effect than the fuel to be honnest (on my Turbo car)
