I think Rafael & Fabio did better going forward than Bebe & Obertan did.

Was it a crap performance or are some of your 2nd string just not good enough?
No bait intended. Genuine question.

Obertan reminds me of Glen Helder.

I think it was just 1st gear all the way. Nobody was up for it, and it seemed like they were all waiting for somebody else to wrap things up. Plus Bebe and Obertan were woeful. Though to doubt Fergie on his new crop would be brave.

Hard playing against a team that has nothing no lose.
But Obertan and Bebe shouldn't be anywhere near the PL.

I actually think Smalling has been playing quite solidly of late, not seen him put a foot wrong recently

A little from coloumn a and a little from column b.
Sub standard performance all round from us really.
As was said earlier in this thread, Fabio doesn't get the games due to Evra, we all know Rafael has established himself as our first choice right back.
I made my feelings clear on Gibson earlier in this thread also. He emerged a bit like Macheda, wonder goal then loads of sub par performances, if you hoof the ball at every opportunity, you are bound to get lucky sooner or later!
O'Shea is good utility/back, certainly not a first teamer, but he comes in and does a job.
Carrick has been missing of late and I'm not sure how much longer he has got.
Anderson was quiet, but has looked good recently and I still think he can be class.
Chicarito didn't really get the service, we all know he has the quality. I don't think his style would look out of place at Arsenal.
Bebe was a huge gamble, something that still baffles a lot of people. Funny name, has scored a few goals. Can't see him fully making it.
Obertan has oodles (is that a word?!) of speed, looks pretty good. Nothing special today.
Rooney, world class, was just there to show his face today.
Smalling is young and is getting quite a few games. He hasn't looked too bad so far.
Fletcher, I used to be a big critic of his. In the past 4 years he has become quite exceptional in my opinon. Bastard son of Fergie blah blah aside, he knows how to perform in big games and keeps his head down in midfield. Nothing special today.
Lindegaard is new, certainly no worse than Kusczak so far!

Just me that saw him lose the ball in the box when he was trying to clear it at the first half then?

Smalling has looked good in previous games i've seen but didn't stand out tonight so unsure on how he played as he didn't look to put a foot wrong, just an average performance. The two wide players were just terrible.

I can see Arsenal doing their typical thing today. Beat Barca midweek, lose to Orient today.

Did you see Smalling against Man City, Whittie? The lad was awesome.
I only saw the first half of the Crawley game, had to go out. First game I've not seen all of in at least a year

I had the misfortune of going watching that load of shit yesterday.
Both da silvas were brilliant and both ended up going off injured, i think fabio has only ever completed one game for us without going off injured.
Wes Brown was good, was all too easy for him in defence, and when smalling came on in the second half he was really good, winning all headers, jumping in front of passes, good tackles and good distribution, he's improving rapidly and starting to look worth the money
Obertan and Bebe were fucking awful, Bebe imo needs a couple of years, got raw talent but nothing with it yet, obertan can fuck right off.
Everytime we draw a team like that in the cup its a shit game and we scrape a win never getting out of first gear
