I wouldn't be suprised if they do this every so often on purpose. I mean, they lose a few quid on fruit, but they get people through the door. Loads of fruit is wasted anyway as it is a perishable item. The safari park near me get tons of the stuff a week from the local supermarkets. I bet the staff are aware and take full advantage of these offers
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

exactly, they probably pay bugger all for fruit and its all a ploy to get people in the door.

If it was giving the fruit for free then yes, But pay some one 1.98 to take two fruit packs? No way. Cheaper to give it away to charity.
