I had it rolling roaded last year with just the Dave-F on it (no I/C) and got 203bhp, it was getting too hot though (they were spraying water directly into the bonnet scoop ) so need to see what it's running now with the intercooler on - should be up to 210 - 215 apparently. Certainly feels a lot more responsive.

Ah ok so the only upgrae over the JCW engine kit is the bigger intercooler & Dave F airbox? Surely the JCW kit should run fine with out the worry of intake temps getting to high as it's an uprated intercooler with that kit any way?

Oh, my play was from start/stop and involved roundabouts.

Can vouch for Ade's statement my mapped anniversary wasn't far off my friends R32 on the move, would cream me at standing start though.

My FAbia VRS was quicker between 3100 RPM and 3200 RPM uphill in 4th gear than an R32

I can vouch for Steve's statement. My uncles old Fabia vRS was remapped and quicker than light.

The supercharged Cooper S are thirsty. 26mpg is probably about right.

Yeh I get about 26 - 28mpg out of mine.

Warren - they run hot anyway - they didn't measure the intake temps, but I did 3 runs, and it was quite clearly getting too hot as the first 2 runs only made about 170 and 185bhp iirc.

Matt - No it's not an uprated intercooler, just different colour cover with the JCW kit - all the supercharged Cooper S's get too hot as standard tbh - it's all too cramped in the engine bay!

Whilst i remember, those with the speedo in the centre of the dash do you have the digital speed reading in your rev counter? And what year are they?

Matt - reasonably, but you actually get feel from the steering rather than a wafting sensation like you do with the C It's also more responsive with the upper & lower strut braces fitted.

Fro - Mine doesn't, but I believe some of the later R53's do, and R56's - not entirely sure.

My R56 has a digital speedo in the rev counter. Good job really as I find it dangerous to look at the central speedo.

My R50 has it, my last didn't, its one of the modes if you have the trip computer option.

My ex's last R53 cabrio had the chrono pack or whatever its called, oil gauges etc in the centre console, rev counter and speedo on the steering column. Quite rare I think but pretty cool.
