Yup right is for the rear derailleur and left is for the front.
Shifting the brake lever will be to shift up..
The inside lever will be to shift down.

Cheers. I'm going to get the missus to help me do this tonight, so i've got a good idea before I go to the bike shops at weekend.
It does take a while to take all the measurements but its a very useful reference for buying your first road bike imho.
Done the measurents
Is the bike size measurement the seat tube range - from centre of bottom bracket to the intersection with the top tube?
Not all road bikes use that for there sizing plus for road bikes it more about the reach.

Picked up my bike today. Been out for a short ride. Road bikes are a harsh ride aren't they! Even with carbon forks.
Also didn't realise the tyre valves are different on road bikes!!

Should invest in a carbon seat post.. Will help take some of the road buzz out of the ride.
Yeah the valves are Presta valves instead of schrader.

Bought some bib shorts today. Really comfy.
But, anyone know where I can buy a bigger cock? Because mine seems to dissapear when I put the shorts on.
Also, do you guys go commando in them or wear boxers?

Where do you guys store your bikes? At the moment I have mine in the hallway where I live, I'm moving flats soon and don't have the same space inside so they may have to go into a shed which I'm not too happy about! What security stuff could I equip the shed with?

Mines in my shed. But it's got no windows and has 3 locks, 2 with big padlocks.

I'm looking at getting an almax ground anchor and chain and then something for the door as well, thing is with cheap sheds you can stick as much security to the door as you like but you can just kick through the walls

Mines pretty solid. And I'd like to think I'd hear them trying to kick their way through!

My shoes arrived today.
Had a practice clipping and unclipping whilst stationary but I know i'm going to forget when out and fall over.
I'm all the gear, no idea now lol
Especially in my Team Europcar jersey

I've always wondered why you need to be dressed like a complete twat to go out on a bike

Because it's cool.
And riding a road bike properly in jeans and trainers doesn't work.

Same. I tried it in normal shorts and trainers when I got my bike.
Also Lycra is needed because all roadies are secretly gay, and like seeing other men in tight clothes.
