That comment makes me sad!

Its happened in this country before, pleanty of times! Only a few years ago that little girl died after being stabbed in the entrace to some flats as people walked by ignoring her.

The difference is our news channels would publish the video.

That is absolutely awful.

If it was this country everybody would have stopped what they were doing in an instant. Mainly the driver! One good thing about this Country I suppose.

It HAS happned in this country before!

More to the point we live in the country that recently suffered mass national riots apparently for no reason where many people were looting and burning property but that doesnt mean we're all animals and this country is full of lawless dicks.

Stop feeding the media troll

Did you honestly watch that and think that they were running over the child because it was in the way?

They ran over the child because they didn't see it. It looks like quite a dark area, industrialised, the driver is up high in the cab of the van, may even be on the other side of the vehicle than the child... as they drive forward, it's quite likely they couldn't even see the kid.

When the van 'bumps' over the child, it's unlikely they thought 'oh I just ran over a child' and far more likely that they just thought they bumped over something that was in the road, e.g. bag of grain or whatever that area is full of.

Accidents like that happen everywhere. Imagine in the UK, a load of fork truck drivers driving about moving crates around a depot, and a child suddenly walks in, there's a high chance the child is going to be struck down.

That shouldn't happen in the UK as the parents would be smart enough to not let their little toddler run around a dangerous area.

Lol, my point is... there may be no ambulance. There may be no hospital for 50 miles and your only mode of transport may be moped. Are you going to put a limp bleeding child on the back of the moped and drive it to the hospital yourself? unlikely.

Have you ever been to Asia? I'm judging by a lot of people's comments in this thread they haven't been and can't imagine a non westernised world.

And Eck, here's a photo I took in Vietnam which backs up my point:

That guy there in that picture is trying to transport his new cupboard / chest of drawers by strapping it to his push bike. He has no car, he has no moped... If he wanted to transport that child to hospital, his only choice would be walking there or going on bicycle.
