Yeah, I don't think they're as bad but I'd still be wary of it, if it's a common fault, it'll be on the owners club buyers guide no doubt.

330ds suffer from the same issue too

But you've got the Corsa for going mental in, personally I'd want a comfy BARGE to just swoon about it.

Talkford.com is a good site for the Mondeo.

Rust on the bottom of the inside doors on Mondeo's, Dual mass fly wheels and Injectors and Pumps are commonish. Once they are replaced, they are unlikey to go again.

I currently have a TDCi Mondeo 2005 130 Zetec. I bought it needing a new engine at 150k. It only owes me £200 and I still have bits to sell. It is a good car, and they can be had for peanuts! Would deffo get a ST though if you can afford it.

My mate is also trading in his CDTi 150 in a few weeks. He said he would let me have it as trade price so I will probs be buying that aswel.

Think im going to keep the Mondeo though as the heated front windscreen, electric windows all round and Digital climate contol JUST swing it for me.

ST vs SRI facelift spec with Snowflakes- THe ST would just win.

STD Mondeo vs SRI facelift spec with Snowflakes the Vectra would win IMO

Volvo s60? Bit over what I want to spend but they're a decent car.

It's difficult as I don't really know what I want. Toeing and decent work daily mpg means it needs to be diesel.

Nic I know you obviously dont mind spending on bit on modding cars, but dont forget to take into consideration general running of cars that do now fall into a price bracket that you can afford to buy. Stuff like genuine BMW or Merc brakes are not cheap, same as some engine sensors when they fail, diesel injectors failing etc.

yeah, i mean a 330d would be the internet approved option, and i do like them, but I've been speaking to a person that works for bmw and he pretty much said the parts for them aren't the cheapest. his advice was buy a vectra oddly.

I would also avoid the mondeo personally, They may have a better built interior but that is where it ends imo, and i know they are diesel but jesus they sound like an old Sherpa van.

vectra sri cdto 150 with xp kit i think is kinda my ideal car. as i do like vauxhalls. and i think its a decent looking car as well as being capable for what i need.

I'm still looking though. I've not fully decided on anything. 6k maybe 7 at a push is all i can spend. may not necessary be finance now, which would make it easier. just need to see if i can extend a loan I've currently got thats due to finish next year.

I don't think the 19" snowflakes were a standard factory fit on the SRi CDTi. Im sure they were more VXR specific.

Just for reference I was towing an E39 530D (1800kg) uphill in 2nd gear with my E39 530D and apart from fuel consumption gauge going as low as it goes, engine didn't struggle at all
