Is that whats going on here?
I don't believe anything on here has had £10k and gone into a watch shop and spent it all on a watch
My 'expensive watches' stand me in just short of £9000. This excludes the G-Shocks I own too.

Clear back on my U-Boat Flightdeck;

Im sending it back to Italy to have the bezel changed to black to match the case along with the other silver details. One critiscm is that the bezel is really soft and is easily caught even though it is only a 43mm effort and not the stupidly large faced efforts!
Jura Watches in Burlington Gardens come highly recommended.

I have my own taste/rules with watches.
Won't get one with numbers on, just looks gay to me, like a kids watch, also i don't like all the chornograph and extra dials. To me a watch should be simple, only tell the date and time, also the date can't have words.
I know we have a few drug dealers on here with lots of money.
My watch was £170 and an 18th birthday present, wear it everyday for 12yrs now.

I fancy a leather strap TW Steel, relatively cheap and cheerful, but aren't they becoming the new must have accessory for the modern day chav? Bit like Burberry caps and Von Dutch.

I think it's a case of them being quite nice and reasonably inexpensive which means everyone has them. Maybe I'm wrong. I still like them either way.

Wtf.
Why would you spend all that money.
It's not like you can wear them all, all the time.

TW Steel have had some chunky price increases in under 2 years. A friend picked one up for £245 new and the same watch is £400 odd now.
I remember when U-Boat retailed for less than £400 (circa 2004). Throw David Beckham and a new CEO into the mix and the cheapest U-Boat now is about £1250 from memory.

I have a good job, I own a house, have nice holidays and no dependancies so I have them because I can.

All watches are a fashion statement I don't care what anyone says . Ok you want it to look nice but you don't go buy one because it's got a special part that u can't see under the case. Your buying for look and brand . You would hardly spend 10k on a watch that was unbranded but built well . Eat that watch connoisseurs (puts on bulletproof jacket)
you clearly have no idea of watches
yes all watches are brands but some brands have history in watch making. Does DKNY and D&G etc have history of making watches - I guess not
But Tag, ORIS, Seiko, Citizen etc all have foundations for watch making
There are many many watches out there you will never of heard of but are over 10k in value - people do not but these ones for brand names but for the engineering and mechnics in them
yes the low end market for OMEGA and TAG etc will be bought by people because they like them but also the name that goes with it
[Edited on 16-02-2012 by whitter45]
No I don't CORRECT , but still your talking bollocks , fair play that a tag or whatever is made better than casio but the price doesn't fully reflect workmanship . I.e there will be equally as well made watches for £200 out there that tag sell for £2000 just because of brand image . If you think your paying just for quality you must be thick . You buy for brand image mainly that's a fact.
Ps it's in no comparison to car ffs it's a watch
why am i talking shit - Take for instance my Grand Carrera - its movement is bespoke to Tag and its hand built - hence the price I paid for it

Your talking bollocks not me - its not just brand image that justify s price
