oh, havent updated this for a while.
Finished off that room(s), carpet fitted, curtains made and fitted etc. A few wee things needed to finish it off - i.e orig spindle door handles, but need to source them from reclemation yards or somthing. I might re-line the window wall as its still a bit bumpy, either that or a skim over the worst bits. Would have liked to have used 800grade paper but only 1000 was in stock :S
Lots of plumbing work to be done now.... want to add plumbing for 3 new toilets (1 downstairs on ground floor, 1 ensuite to master and 1 on the top floor)
I'll start work on the hall next month I think.... MASSIVE job

hahaha!
It has been pretty slow...the wardrobe is finished and the bedroom (although I would like a unit built into the alcove in the bedroom).
Curtains hung in the main lounge
That's about it....time has been spent on stripping the skyline
Going to start on the hall in the next week or two though It's going to be a mammoth job

Hall all lined now, ceiling sorted and lined too. Walls ready to paint after woodwork is finished.
Woodwork - Nearly all first coated with a clear coat to seal, just the upper stair case to do... after that i'll give it two coats of antique pine.
Stairs - Going to paint the spindles old penny brass.

not in the hall, no. WOuld look daft having a picture and dado rail. Also.... where would it go when going up the first flight of stairs
It's common for these houses not to have picture rails in halls.
Every other room in the house has picture rails though.

lower hall will have stripped back floor boards, stair will have a runner up the middle with sides to match the bottom floor. Mezzanine floor = carpet then centre stairs again up to 2nd floor which will be carpeted.

bought some salvage stuff today... some not really needed but never mind!
2x stained glass windows to make into glass panels for the vestibule and hall to kitchen doors. Fair bit of work and extending/new stained glass needed for it to work... but will sort it out.
obviously the blue door will be stripped back... and will replace the gash 80's glass panel door that some nugget fitted somewhere down the line

Looking good. Maybe a bit late, but when my dad stripped some doors a few years ago he got some paint stripper from a commercial paint supply place that came with a roll of paper and you put the liquid on, then the paper over the top, waited a while then peeled the paper off and it took about 6 layers of paint with it.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
