Read what i wrote after that.

EDIT: here look

Sorry I should rephrase. It does feel sharper upon first turning in; it feels alot quicker/sharper but out and out grip or 'handling' it really doesnt feel different. As said, tyres made more of a difference (we all tried different ones but all tried the same brand at one point).

I did 12,000 miles in mine, and coverd several thousand miles in friends cars, took them to pod, massive 'hoons' pushing the cars to the limit around derbyshire peaks, took them all to 140+ and all over the country so I would like to think I have a valid opinion.

Its one of them things that gets over-hyped. I will have to try and get the r26 owner (well ex as of the last few days) to join the forum and give his opinion. He did 20k in his last year so got to know what the car can do, and he will happily back up what I have said.

The last bit hasnt happend btw. He has lost his job in the army, now run off with a married girl with 2 kids, and lives about 100 miles away. He hasnt even got his phone as he sold it to cash for you

he never said he was doing 130 miles per hour, he just said he did 130 which could be in kilometres which would mean 80 mph

Cambelts can be done, although they are a pain and you need the locking tools or you have no chance

Another question on these, how do you tell the difference between the old 225 cup 51 team bla bla bla and an R26?

Cup packs have grey wheels and mirrors. Black eibach springs and you can turn the traction control off, non cup Packs u can't turn traction off after 30mph apparently, phase 1 and 2 is the front bumper

R26 came in LY, Black, White, RED(Solid), Blue and Silver. Specific anthra wheels, recaros and a power hike. 230 not 225
I think they where 07 on as well.

Got the autodata printout on timing belt, 7.8 hours they say.

Loads of labour but looks doable.

Can you get non R26 versions of these on 08 plate?

If so what's the difference? Miissing the recaros, is it missing the diff and some suspension?

Yes. Can get 225 lux and 225 cup.
Lux gets leather, keyless, climate controls and a few other bits but no cup suspension, recaros or diff.

Cup gets cloth seats, manual air con, cup pack (brakes and suspension same as R26 but no diff)

Recaros and xenons are options on both, and cup pack was an option on the lux.

Cheers, thought they were all R26 after a certain date until I spotted one without the recaros.
