All 335D / 535D are auto due to the torque produced the clutch can't take it, not saying they can't make one but its cheaper, easy of driving and reliability makes them auto....

If i was to have a dirty diesel I would have either 335d or 535d and I drive and work on them everyday....

Depends on year too as the LCI have better gearboxs (faster changes) but it depends are you asking about 335d or 335i ???

As different years use different engines etc.... need to be more specific

Sport box is more for a larger car eg X5 you can get a 40d with Sport box which gives you paddles behind steering wheel... where the none Sport box doesn't give you the paddles

Thats an early 335i which uses a N54 twin turbo engine (de tuned 1M engine) as stated above its pre face lift so the gear change is slightly slower...

(N54) They suffer from turbo actuator rattle and its pricey be careful when buying one....

Auto = torque converter
SMG is a manual with an electronic/hydraulic clutch.

I work for bm, And the 335d's are rapid. We have one come in quite often with the performance pack, coilies, strut braces and a remap and it would easily eat an m3 on the track

On paper the M3 does 0-60 in 4.5-5.1 seconds. The 335i does it in 5.2-5.3 seconds. Hardly anything in it.

0-60s are useless if you go round corners on your side skirts.
