ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS will lose nearly £11million when he is named Tottenham’s new manager next week.

The Portuguese coach, 34, did not receive a lump sum pay-off when he was fired by Chelsea last March just eight months into a three-year contract.

Instead, the Blues agreed to keep paying his £100,000-a-week salary until he got another job.

He has so far received three months of payments up to the start of July.

But if he takes the White Hart Lane post, Chelsea supremo Roman Abramovich will turn off the cash tap and AVB will miss out on another 25 months — worth £10.8m.

Reports from Portugal had suggested negotiations with Spurs had hit financial problems.

There were even rumours Chelsea had taken the unprecedented step of preventing AVB joining another Premier League rival for at least 12 months. But this has been rubbished by the Champions League kings, who said their ex-boss was free to take a job the day he left Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have used the payment method to AVB as a way to avoid a huge one-off compensation pay-out after they handed Porto £13m last summer to secure his

Slavan Bilic or Laurent Blanc. I've staked a fair wager on the latter this morning, seeing as he has a good personal relationship with Levy.

Anyone follow my Blanc tip?

I've got £20 at 40/1
£5 at 16/1
£2.83 at 7/1

Dad's got £50 at 40/1

And got 4 of my mates in on a syndicate £10 in each, £40 at 40/1

Getting Excited!

Ouch.

Yuck.

Close but no Cigar.

Back in the market for a manager by the end of october.

Head Coach? What the fuck is a Head Coach exactly?

I don't see why there's a negative feeling about AVB. He didn't perform at Chelsea because he had a group of fucking wankers who didn't have the technical ability to play the sort of football he wanted, so they went on strike and got him sacked. His style of play will go really well with Spurs imo. If they can hold on to Modric that is!

I'm happy at the appointment and having 8/1 lol. Gotta laugh at Sky Sports though, a bloke at the lane and a bloke at the new bull's cross training ground yet the it was all happening at the old training ground in Chigwell.

I agree with Eck, he's a good manager, and he'll have learnt from his mistakes at Chelsea, I think he'll do well.

Following harry and getting top 4 again won't be easy though

iv heard him say stupid shit, i agree with his comments about avb though. He hasnt a clue, some managers fail at a club but you can tell they have something about them, avb is like a wet fish, no carisma, too young for the prem, and also clueless, i dont care what hes done at porto, big deal prem is a totally different kettle of fish

You talk more shite than 10 arseholes Steve

AVB is a superb manager and he will do an excellent job at Spurs provided he is given the proper tools to work with and the current players don't turn into Billy Bigbaws and think they run the club.

The 'failure' at Chelsea will drive him on to success.
