All nice things mate but what relevance does old men owning Subura's and talking about them online have to do with this thread?

if you sold the astra gsi and lost 1k on it, overall you'd have lost money.

I do like Astra GSI's but comparing one against a scooby is silly... It sounds to me like you had a money making opportunity and you went for it! (How much did you sell the scooby for btw)?

Also why did you buy the scooby if you didn't have it for very long? I think the loud exhaust probably gave it more of the "chavvy" appearance you speak of... My old type R (civic) was loud and it was embarrassing giving people lifts sometimes...

maybe I am different but i could not give 2 shits if my car sounded like a wet fart, was pink and dropped glitter behind it when i drove, I drive it for my own pleasure and do not give two shits what anyone else thinks or decides to assume about me from what car I drive.

Astra is still nice however a loud exhaust could have been fixed with a quieter system quite easily

subaru had to run a certain free flowing exhaust due to the map it was currently running so couldnt change it really,

as for the astra, i bought it due to its low mileage low owners and not be messed with, if i wanted to buy something that was of the value of a subaru i would of!

and anyway i dont keep cars long.

you can still run a free flowing exhaust, just gone for a milltek which is quieter, worst case scenario a map tweek would have cost 150 quid max.

We all know that the most council estate car you can get is a Megane F1 with the sticker pack.

tweek a map? its not as simple as that im sure as its not a ecu like dta or standalone,

As for miltek they are way expensive and when i had my vxr i had one and the thing was very loud !

it really is as simple as that , if your on standard ECU it will most likely be using ECUTEK, if its on an aftermarket ECu such as Simtek, Alcatek or Solaris then again its just a map tweak

Miltek is cheaper then you think, to be honest if you think that is "alot" to spend on a performance car then maybe you should have purchased a small diesel or something

thought the map used by scooby clinin was generic like eds etc.

as for price on the miltek i can afford it but i knew i wasnt going to keep the car long so was dead money to me.
