Crystal Palace have dropped off the pace a bit recently, he'll be back if they get back to the top of the table.

I don't get what the Upson/Pennant argument is? Plenty of Big clubs youngsters don't make the cut but go on to have decent careers at other decent clubs. United have had their fair share.

Precisely what Walbinho said, my reason for referencing fhem was that even though they didn't make the grade at Arsenal they still went on to play in Prem, at intl level and went about for big fees. In addition to those guys we also had the likes of Muamba, Seb Larsson and Jerome Thomas on the books at various times who might not have set the world alight but are still established prem lge players

Also re. Zaha, his admission in the Daily Fail that he is ready to move on is a clear indication that he will leave in this window, suspect the rumours surrounding him are to blame for his loss of firm since his England call up so better to cash in now and use the £8-10m to strengthen for their promotion push

8-10m?! This is Crystal Palace you're talking about negotiating with, not a poxy club like Real Madrid. You're looking at at least £578425m just to tempt them.

Zaha would be a nice signing but not the answer to our problems.
As for us turning great youngsters into average players.....

I don't think the answer to ours, or anyone's, problems lies in the Jan tfr window tbh. We just have to hope to get a striker in to supplement Giroud and Walcott and replace anyone who leaves. Oh, and try and re-sign Walcott lol

Boyce
Upson
Matt Taylor
And also Foley with Wolves.
And in the past there was Hartson.
In fact last month our academy was ranked 18th in the country.

I'm here, I just don't spend my life on here believe it or not
Neil Ashton is a Palace fan so that interview with Zaha he had about him wanting to go in the DM was pretty crap.
But Arsenal have now ruled themselves out so that's it done I believe, he's the only team he would've gone to. A) Because he is huge arsenal fan and B) because he doesn't want to leave London. I've spoken with Parish and Ollie face to face and they're both still adament he's going no where unless we get £18m-£20m.
Besides, Bolasie has been FAR better over the last two months, the guys a genius. Not bad for £200k from Bristol Shitty reserves.

Oh, and he's not worth anyway near £18-£20m - I'll be the first to admit that. If you can buy RVP for £24m you don't need to spend £18-£20m for a petulant just turned 20 teenager. He needs time at this level to mature as not playing WILL affect him mentally and he'll turn into a John Bostock.
He needs to do what Victor Moses did when he left us for the premiership, that is how the kids should get into the big teams.

IMO his form has dipped because of speculation. A few months training with a top manager and he'll be back in the game. He's one for next season in my view but can pitch in this season too

I reckon its a great signing. Hes a quality player IMO and will be very useful if given game time and played up front in his preferred position.

He'll be a great signing. Is pretty much the only striker you could of bought at the moment and he'll score plenty. Was the sort of signing you should of got last summer

Agreed ^
I really like him and think he has lots of potential but being let go by both Citeh and Chels and ending up at Liverpool doesn't say too much tbh
