Matt, would you put the stuff down and walk out without anything?
1) would they really run after you? they're employees, not worlds strongest man contestants.
2) would they bother.ringing police knowing thatthey wouldn't bother following it up, and the fact they're losing their job anyway.

We were discussing who would be next at work today, sadly the majority of us think stores like WH Smiths will be gone soon. Supermarkets sell stationary and magazines (the more diverse mags will have subscriptions anyway), their CDs and DVDs were never the latest chart titles, Amazon/Waterstones sell books...
Since Woolworths went bust I bet any group of middle of the road chain stores have been shitting themselves worrying about what sets them apart from the rest.

The high street as we know it will be completely different in 5-10 years time, full of CEX/cash converter type shops.

That's pretty much the only new shops that are springing up, that and pawn shops/ gold buyers etc..

should have walked out tbh.
if everyone did it, what could they possibly do?
like lee said, they won't be too bothered as they're going to more than likely be unemployed soon.

Apart from the fact a lot of people would lose their jobs I wouldn't even bat an eyelid. WH Smith are extortionate for absolutely everything. Robbing bastards.

I'm wondering whether diy chains like b&q will ever go down? It's not as easy buying bigger stuff online due to extortionate delivery costs, but most stuff is considerably cheaper to begin with.
i know a lady who works in B&Q norwich (bearing in mind norwich only has about 150k people and they clear 500k on a shit week, apparently.

I think B&Q will be ok, the fact that they do have some staff that know their stuff helps. I'd much rather go to a shop and get decent advice and buy from them, than take a punt and get something off the internet.

B&Q have got a lot better in recent times both in terms of product and price. In my experience anyway.

Hopefully pizza huts next.
Cunts charged me 35 quid for 2 pizzas, 2 starters and 2 cokes in their ''restaurant''.
