Few bits to add here...

Firstly, in prep for Trax I serviced the car, 158k miles at this point, well undue I should add!

Gave it a deep clean too

On the way to Trax my mates girlfriend got this pic, It wasn't ideal conditions for a picture!

Then fast forward 6 days and I was at Castle combe, I took the DCi out twice.

Djgritt got this pic

Picked up some Xenons the other day, Fitted last night....

Car is dirty as fuck atm, Will wash it at the weekend... Maybe.

One sidelight is broke

Finally happy with how the car looks, Only thing I want to change really is the wheels to gray, and respray the whole car as the paint is poor.

Come a long way since this....

Til next time!

Haha, Thats the idea!

So, Been wanting to do this for a while, Finally recieved the looms the other day. This will enable to me to have Climate control, using the Aircon I retrofitted a couple of months back, and Cruise control, Something I've wanted forever in this car.

Yesterday, about half 5 in the evening, The car looked like this...

Moments later..

Bit later

Then about 7.30, Completely stripped

I carried on until 8 last night, got the new loom fitted in place, then a few bits this morning before work, plus a little bit after work today, and I got to this point...

Got all the front end done, running etc, Then started on the inside...

Only picture I got, I just wanted to get it done, fast.

3hours later, car was finished, but I have a few issues to solve. No blower motor, Dial illumination flashing slighty, most likely a bad earth, and finally no illumination on the Climate panel.

Hopefully have it finsihed tomorrow.

Good luck with that.

Clios are renowned for electrical problems in that shape.

Ha, I'm an auto electrician by day so this is easy!
I disagree with electrical issues, only really have issues with earths on rear lights, body control modules and the 1.2's having terrible looms, not bad considering IMO.

More later hopefully!!

Yeah touch wood I've never had a single electrical problem with mine either. Mainly wear and tear components but what do you expect of a french car at 92k

Any car at 92k tbh! Mines on 160, myself having done 17k of that, I can't really comment on relability as everything has been changed pretty much.

Small update anyway, Climate control all works as it should, its awesome. Next step is to take the panel out again, and replace the 26! LED's so it matches the dials. Also need to do all the switches when I find time!

Cruise control is up next, Need to find myself a squib (I already have one, but its got a break in the circuit ) and the wheel buttons, plus activate it in the dash using CLIP, already activated in engine ECU while I was checking the Climate etc stuff..

And, even though its my birthday, Decided to pull the passenger side of the car apart, I do love a good sound system, so the clio already had sub, components etc, but ever since fitting the sub, I wasn't happy with how I had run the power cable, It caused the sill trim to stick out. Pulled the seat out, carpets up and ran it through, gromits on all the sharp edges and now the sill trim fits like it should do!

Hoping to swap the subframe (Bent!) sometime soon, along with refurb the wheels, although can't decide between anthracite or keep them silver, opinions?

Keep them silver!!!

Loving watching the transformation of this! I need to change my engine bay loom very soon! Previous owner hacked it all up any tips you could come up with after stripping yours out?

I do like the silver, I can only find pics of Turinis in anthracite, if I could find a pic of 172's, I'd probs go for that as I think it would look awesome.

Cheers, I love looking back to the first post in this thread and it seems like so long ago, but reality it was only 8months really.

Plan to have the car off the road for a couple of days, get it up on axle stands, remove the arch liners complete as it makes it much easier, and support engine and remove the top gearbox mount (you'll already have to remove all the battery box etc) as the wiring runs under it, much easier with it all out the way.

You'll have fun with the ecu covering thing, I've no idea how you really get them off, mine was cut off with a grinder when we first bought the car!

If you need any more help, fire me a U2U and I'll assist as much as I can!

Mine doesn't have an ecu cover at the minute haha.. Think they just pull off anyway. That's what I thought I'd be doing. Just got bring all the right tools home from work this weekend! Thanks man!

I think if you get the wheels done, I had some wheels on my 330 last year that were hyper silver, really stood out. Think the colour would really suit flame red.

That'll make it easier then, they are supposed to just pull off I think, however its rare that actually happens!

I had a look in the bay of my 172 earlier and thought to myself that its a even worse job on a sport, driveshaft will deffinantly get in the way, as you need to unbolt the starter terminals, plus everything else that runs along the bulkhead at the bottom there.

I don't envy your task, shame your not local as I'd love to help. You should be able to do it over a weekend though. Have fun! lol

Really undecided on the wheels tbh, Luckily I have a Iceburg 172 with the same wheels, and I think that would suit Anthracite perfectly, so will most likely refurb one set in anthra and then decide.

Cheers luke

Got the silver one running (a while ago actually), so took it for some photos...

Then took the car for some photos, Number plates aren't straight (velcroed on, didnt notice until after!) and ive since refitted silvertec bulbs to the front.

Decided I wanted a wheel colour change, So anthracite it is!

Next up is intercooler and making it go faster I think, although a few little jobs need doing before I go too mad on making it faster!

I might get one of these, is it true running them on red diesel can destroy the fuel pumps though?

Pretty bored tongiht so will update this.....

Few boring bits, few good bits...

Fitted an undertray, Non-sports never came with one, and most sports are missing them anyway!

Fitted a DCi 80 intercooler, solved boost leak, doubt its made it any faster

Fitted some Pure Motorsport solid top mounts...

As I was doing this to the bearings every 3months...

Didn't wash it for a while...

Had new exhaust tip turn up... 3inch lol

Cleaned it

Had this lot delivered to me

Cliosport driveway

Wired up (and set in the UCH) headlight washers

Renaultsport sill trims

Ages ago I cut the backbox off, bodged a pipe on as a temp measure...

Cut bumper, welded it all and fitted it all up

Finished

Finished painting up etc the rear beam I bought, added in some 10mm hub spacers while I was there

Decided to fit it today....
Old beam coming off

Everything dropped

Gone

Added braided lines to the new beam, and stuck some wheels on so I could just roll it in

Got it all up

Fitment is soo much better, however now the front has too much tuck!

Thats about where I am now....

I've decided I dislike the Grey wheels, so I'm going back to Silver. I've also fitted Cruise Control and probs some other bits I've forgotten... Also passed its MOT a couple of weeks ago, no advisorys or anything! Re-taxed too £30

Overall, used, abused and it keeps coming back for more. Done far too many miles in it this year too!

Sure there will be loads more in the new year...

I do really like what you have done so far! Exhaust suits it really well too. That not loud being a dci?

Good choice to go back silver

Exhaust isn't as quiet as it was, its not extreamly loud, just enough to hear it. Don't sound too bad once on boost.
