Got the wheels done gloss black for winter today and just got them fitted. This is the best pic I have at the moment due to the shitty weather.

The cars was given a proper winter detail today, wash, clayed, rinsed, foamed, rinsed, dried, sealed, all interior plastics and windows cleaned and dressed, seats Shampoo'd.
And a few pics of end result, its was seriously cold so only took a couple lol

looks very nice
but why have them refurbed to black if you like white
Surely just leave them white over winter and if they damaged just refurb them white gain next year
After 2 weeks driving my wheels look black anyway

I've had them black for week now and the first wash of them was yesterday and they didn't even look as if they needed done. If they were still white they'd need done within the hour. The last thing I wanna do in freezing weather is wash my wheels nearly everyday to keep them decent and free of all the salt and crap. Plus at £180 all in its not gonna break the bank to have a different look for the next 5 or so months.

I thought you'd detailed it yourself but after seeing those photos I recognise the background from somebody who used to post on DW Username is Grizzle or something isn't it?

Not updated this in ages. I had an issue last year with the car misfiring badly under load causing the EML and EPC light to come on and knock the car into limp mode. It kept coming up Cylinder 1 misfire so I replaced everything obvious to try fix it, plugs, coilpacks, fuel filters etc and the issue was still there. I even tried Terra Clean which was a waste of time in my kind of engine. It was then decided that the big job of removing the inlet manifold was the next thing to look at.
It was decided that it must be a blocked injector thats to blame for the problems so the manifold was removed and the injector from cylinder 1 was swapped over with number 3 and put all back together again. I had my fingers crossed that once the car misfired again it would come up cylinder 3 misfire and that I would finally have found the culprit. Well, the car ran absolutley spot on I was relieved and pissed at the same time as we were no longer further forward finding out what caused it.
Anyways, it ran well for a few months when I got a call from the wife one night saying that the cars just brought on the EML & EPC light and its went to limp mode. I knew it would do it eventually so on went VAGCOM and it was even worse, cylinder 3 & 4 were to blame. This time we took the manifold off again (this was the 3rd bloody time) and took all 4 injectors out and sent them off to be cleaned and tested.
I finally found that it was the injectors to blame. 1 was running at only 60% under load the other less than 30%, the other 2 were running like new again thank god. £240 later I had 2 brand new injectors, had them ftted and the cars running full health again. Didn't expect this amount of hassle so early into ownership but it was traced down to a shitty bit of fuel.
The cause of all the hassle lol. Nice new ones now.
While the engine was apart it was given a full carbon clean as these engines are seriously manky inside due to the nature of the direct injection. These are a few pics of how dirty the engine was.
These little flaps were caked in carbon front and back and theres 4 of them
Terra Clean at work (waste of time for me tho)

While the car was in getting the injectors put back in I sold my Evoms Intake kit and managed to find the new Revo ceramic coated intake for an absolute steal. These retail at £400
Brilliant bit of kit tho, well made and fitted better than the Evoms. The bore is MUCH bigger as well so gives really good gains and sounds amazing.
I also was given a Revo SPS switch free from a mate who didnt need it any more and got it all set up at Sitech Racing to run different maps, Anti Theft etc

And so to bring this up to date, The car goes in tomorrow for its 40k service.
Seeing as nearly everything is only a few thousand miles old all it needs is an oil, oil filter and pollen filter change.
Also got new discs, pads and fluid to go on as well. I have never lifted brakes as heavy as the ones that are on mine at 345mm there massive but jesus there heavy
And there we have it
