Mine displays my number as being greyed out and awaiting activation. Have reset network settings rebooted, signed in and out of my apple ID tried to toggle auto time update etc. But no joy.

Looks like it cant verify the number with either apple or the network

Mines greyed out too. No wonder it's not sending the message as a text when it can't deliver it as an iMessage

On the email, it now makes me 'tap to download' pictures, very annoying, can i turn this off so it's like before?

Not really sharing the excitement others have had with this. Just seems like things are a bit bigger and they've switched around how you swipe and do things.

I think it's poo, which is why I'm switching to something else for a bit.

I've had a lot longer than most to evaluate how much I dislike it as I've been using the developer betas since June. Mr. Ive should stick to designing hardware because his UI sucks.

My iMessage seems fine. Sounds daft but have you tried turning iMessage off and on, that sometimes kicks it into gear.

Sounds like you already had your mind made up. Metro is possibly the dullest UI going.

I don't disagree with you, especially next to the Toys R Us icons in iOS 7 with all the colours and the shapes.

I'm tired of rounded corners - squares are where it's at; panders to my OCD tendencies a bit better - straight lines, everything lined up, lovely.

I also like the more Fitts' law-friendly implementation of 'icons' (aka Live Tiles) in Windows Phone 8 OS because you can make the things that are more important to you bigger.

Half of that's from the beta's, the other half I either can't see why it's an issue or can't see what they're trying to point out.

That said there are annoyances, accessing the camera from the lock screen without triggering control centre for example, really poor.

I also wish apps would stop using the slide out side drawer/panel thing, been done to death now, gets accidentally triggered with other swipe gestures (like in Mailbox) and doesn't fit with apples edge swipe to go back. Glad Facebook got rid of it in their update, only for AutoTrader to put their whole search criteria UI in one.

Interestingly (or not for some) you can slide across the tabs in the Facebook app and it instantly shows the views for the tabs, from a developer perspective I'm not even sure how they've done that...

Im unsure if switching location services on/off worked or if it just updated before I went ot check that as a possible fix.

Either way, fully functional.

I think it's much faster and my battery has lasted longer today than it normally does. I've been showing everyone the new features all day as well.

Calculator is awful. Looks like a windows clone. No longer looks classy. Probably works better though.

3G doesn't seem to be working for me, anyone experienced this on O2?

My 3G has been shite on this phone and O2 since I got it. Constantly sits on GPRS when I know there's 3G, flick mobile data on and off and it magically goes to 3G, next time I look at it, it's back on GPRS. Haven't been able to identify if it's a hardware, software or network issue.

Is it not a similar issue you complained about the S3 having

Very similar which makes me think it's network related (and hence haven't complained about it).

That said, the issue with the S3 was dropping connection when switching between connection types, this is more just not using the best connection type that is available.

Fantastic update, if even just to freshen it up.

Not heard one layman in the real world have a bad thing to say about it, from my Director's to the Office Junior that thinks it looks pretty.

General opinion from geeks: "look at the terrible icons, I hate everything"

General opinion from normal people: "looks great, like having a new phone"

Just tried building my apps for iOS7 and 64bit, compiles straight away and without a single warning

Updated tonight. Looks a bit odd but I'm sure in a few months it will all appear familiar and it'll be like it has always being like this.
