Surprised they didn't include the hot Citroen DS3 in that test but it was done in the Italy feature last year.

The continuity is always bad. On the 3 British sports cars challenge when they went to Blackpool. They drove down the same stretch of st Anne's about 4 times, all in the wrong order

My thoughts also. I don't mind that idea so much as it seems a decent way to get a few times up there to start with instead of just having the one person up there on their own. Gives it a good kick start. However, he tried to use the awful joke again of suggesting that ST refers to sanitary towels, which he also used when they Focus ST came out. It was a poor line then and hasn't gotten any better. I've never been walking round Tesco and overheard women saying "must pick up some STs"...

Other than that I rather enjoyed it.

As for the hatchback test, the Fiesta looked the best but I wouldn't own one because it's a Ford. Also wouldn't have the Clio because it is properly ugly, same goes for the 208. Also if the previous Clio's interior is anything to go by, then it will be horrible and cheap plastics all round apart from nice seats.

Owns an old zafira but wouldn't own a brand new ford.

That's strike 2, dave.

Fords are cheap and feel like it. Old Zafira is solid and tight. No frills but does it well.

Hot hatch bit.... All good and made me want an ST

Hot lap part.... decent to watch and the ladies

JC in the 'Hire car' ruined it IMO not in the slightest bit entertaining. James's bit was funny as always.

Disagreed. Got a few new Astras at work but previously at a few Focus temporary ones.

The Focus was much better built and refined, both driving and interior finish.

You need to have a go in the new range of ford's. The new fiesta/focus st are lovely inside.

You're stuck in the past mate.

Ojc only cares about ring times, so he can brag to his painting buddies that his car is quickest.

New fiesta is built better than an old Zafira and I'd say both the Clio and the Peugeot.

Ollie you would love the ST it's like the Clio. It's about involvement reward and feel. Not Internet points.

And having owned a Clio II which whilst being made of cheese, was well put together and rattled less than my Vx Astra did. It felt cheap. The newer Clio III which Mrs Jambo has had two of, in Dynamique/RS(exc cup) spec has soft touch dash and nice fittings. No rattles and wears well! Usual French car bashing nonsense.

I've had a go in a 59 plate Mondeo. Just didn't like it.

My mate has a previous shape RS Clio 200 Gordini, and while it's nice, the interior just seems really cheap. No soft touch plastics (that I recall), I didn't think the MFD was that great for a car of its age and generation, but the seats are very nice.

Looks like one of the TG producers has recently learned what heal-toe looks like based on the hothatch section

New Fords are lovely imo, went down to MK in a works Mondeo and it rivaled any 3 or 5 series I've been in.

I would think that new Fiesta would impress anyone coming from any 5+ year old Vauxhall.

I cannot believe that he said the Fiesta ST could one day be held in the same esteem as the Sierra Cosworth, Lotus Cortina and other such cars are now. That is total bollocks!

All 3 of those cars looked fat, boring and having seen one of those clio's in the flesh - it makes a Zaf GSi look like a hot hatch! They are massive!

New cars just make me physically angry now. I can't explain it. I'd rather spend £18k rebuilding whatever 20year old car i like than buy one of these characterless, boring, disposable....things.

The difference is, it's not your money they're spending.

3 year warranty, new car peace of mind etc is far better than spending 18k nut and bolt restoring a classic and then using it for the daily work commute, parking in tescos and taking it down pot holed rural roads.

New cars are SO much better than old cars. Seriously.

And why can't it be held in the same esteem? ST with a map will probably run rings around a std cossie tbh.

I doubt it'll ever be held in the same esteem. It probably would walk over a Cossie with a map but its just not special in the slightest.
The Focus RS could be held in that regard because it made lots of headlines and its certainly unique. I doubt many people will even take a second look at that Fiesta on the street.
