Can you not claim on your house insurance for the excess as they took the keys for there?

That was found about 2 miles from my front door

Yeah one of the guys I know from Wakefield went to pick it up once it was found they were very lucky to get that back

Hoping someone would steal it tbh

I could probably leave the keys in mine, engine running with a big neon sign saying free to a good home and still I reckon no one would take it.

My Dad's car got broken into on his driveway last Saturday morning. They live in a sleepy little village with pretty much a zero crime rate and even on a long driveway, he got done. Weirdly they only stole 2 old mobile phones, the parking change in the ash tray so about £10 worth and 2 pairs of safety glasses. They even found €50+ in notes and coins in the centre console and left it on the seat.

Ive got a baseball bat at the side of my bed, I probably wouldnt be prepared to use it though.

Fairy liquid bottle full of red hot curry powder you want, squirt of that to the face and their down.

My car isnt worth pinching anyway, and even so there are 2 big vans butt upto the end of it.

Nothing you can do to stop the fuckers if they want it enough.

If you feel like you're in danger, spit in the attackers face. Will distract him/her enough for you to escape/go all gangsta with your weapons.

Nobody would want neither of my cars, they're worth nothing and need repairing.

But I have a german shepherd. Nobody is taking my keys.

Still no sign of cars

Just got valuation of the VXR of £9700 he said that's a fair valuation and that I could go away and check.
Any suggestions for getting the value up once I've take off my £1100 excess the car has lost half it's value in 4 years

What car? 2009 Corsa VXR Arctic?

Parkers says £8935 even at a franchised dealer so £9700 sounds pretty good to me?

I'd say a corsa only losing half its value in 4 years is excellent.

I suppose you have to ask yourself about what you will get as a replacement with the money they give you. Could you get the same car on Auto-trader for example? (Trying to find low mileage again might be the hard part though)
