Might only be 20% of the market but its a majority of the profit!
Yep, 5S is still the best selling phone in the world 8 months later, must be shit.

Wonder if we'll see wireless charging?

I didn't think wireless charging was that much of a big deal, and in some ways its not. However, since I got one for my nexus 5, anytime I do have to plug the phone is a big hassle. Definitely a first world problem but its great.

I don't think we will see the wireless charging in Apple until they have it cracked such that you don't need a mat i.e. you have the transmitter in the monitor and you can just put something on the table and it charges

Thought that might prompt a few responses.
Not fussed about the new iPhone, will buy it just cause. Even though it's likely to be a terrible product in reality, I'm more looking forward to the Moto 360 tbh.

You mean like an induction coil in a charging mat?
The only way to get rid of the mat is to have the coils in the desk/table/what-ever-the-device-is-resting on (there are a few pieces of furniture that have them embedded already); having them in the monitor () isn't going to work, not unless you plan to have some sort of phone/device holder on the actual monitor
Tbf Apple will get in the wireless game when they produce, aka buy-in, a proprietary system

I'm talking about the stuff that is being developed at the moment not the current short distance induction charging i.e. WiTricity is along the right lines.
There have been a number of tech previews where you can light a bulb from 50cm away from the power source. Move on 5 years of technological advancements and there is nothing to say its not something in the monitor which provides the charging to the phone, keyboard, mouse etc etc.
I agree Apple probably won't invent it as there are many others spending mega money that its not worth their while. They have other fish to fry. But they won't get into it till there is a proper multiple device solution available

Ubiquitous wireless energy will come but so will interstellar space travel. That's not what apple are waiting for, more likely as Dom says, waiting to find a way that can force you into buying expensive chargers instead of Qi.

They could do that now if that's what they wanted. They could easily come up with an Apple version of the Qi charging tech which used its slightly different technology forcing people to buy the Apple version.
When you look at the tech that companies like Ossia are developing, its not as far away as you think. Its a game changer technology as you have a single thing at the side of your desk and that you sorted keyboard, phone, printer, ipad, etc all powered, then further down the line the more power items like monitors and computers

Apple are going through a really boring period, same as most manufacturers are.

Big problem is phones have mostly been been done now. Its minor bits here and there that differentiate now.
Watches are obviously the next interesting area with Moto360 / iWatch etc are they going to just be a niche item or provide real useful stuff to hit the mass market?

How many of the prevous models looked nothing like the leaked images in the build up?

There were never any proper leaks until Apple turned into another Samsung.

It's all out there already. Obviously not 110% certain, but it's more than likely that.
4.7 & 5.7" screens. Bigger form, but slimmer.

Every release it's the same. People come into the iPhone thread to mock iPhones. Treat it as any other thread, if you don't like it or have nothing interesting to say just ignore it.

I swap between mocking them and buying them so should I only come in the years I buy one?

Surely if only positive opinions are allowed, we'll get some pretty one sided discussions? In which case I'd have to ask, what's the point of a forum if not to exchange opinions?

4.7 leaked images (supposedly) - http://www.neowin.net/news/these-are-the-first-images-of-a-fully-assembled-iphone-6.
Potentially a 128GB version - http://9to5mac.com/2014/08/21/128gb-iphone-6-leaked-schematics-suggest-it-may-happen/.

Saw that Dom, allegedly 16gb is no more. 32gb will be the minimum.
