No more stranger than every other car manufacturer - just look at Porsche's and Saab's etc

The Fiesta ST has 200ps. After 15 seconds of full throttle without lifting off, it reduces to 180ps.
I'm guessing they did this for emission marketing?

to be honest I would've thought it'd have more how much? I'm not sure. Mines a 1.4 tsi with 180bhp admittingly mine also has a supercharger.

Corsa has a similar overboost function though they don't quote the bhp increase, the torque is increased by 20, there will be a power increase too, probably similar amount to that I'd imagine.
so the BHP differences are still there if we doing like by like comparisons

Can you explain why your corsa vxr is over 200kg's heavier than the market leader fiesta st?
Unfortunately The Fiesta will look dated in about 3 weeks..
No doubt. The current gen fiesta bodystyle is from 2008. It's due a new model. They've aged well and the figures don't lie. Best selling car in the UK.

Corsa has been about since 2006. Imagine it after the E is done. Will be 15 years old looking pretty much the same.
They say it's a completely new chassis but interesting how the bodywork is the same.
I saw a 63 plate Fiesta ST t'other day. Didn't realise they were knocking 2 years old.

Historically Fiestas have aged very badly.. Look at an L reg fiesta then look at the equivalent Corsa.. You can pretty much do the same Generation for Generation and every time when you look back the Vauxhall looks better.

But that's completely subjective. I'm sure guys with fiesta rs turbo's think they're the greatest looking thing ever.

There is no power increase. I read up on it. Only torque is increased. Must be some wierd American wizardy going on.

Show me where it says power isn't increased? The two I would have thought would be unavoidably linked, if the extra torque is made by increasing boost which is what is suggested.
The only way torque could be increased without power would be through gearing imo

If power was increased, don't you think they'd advertise that also, considering bhp figures sell?

What are the 0-100mph times of both cars? Also whats the 50-70 time?
Forget power.. Lets see what the times say..
It wouldnt supprise me if a 20 year old punto gt beat both.
Also. What was the price of the corsa? Wouldnt you of been able to buy a 1/2 year old vxr astra.. ?

6.5 0-62 for the corsa
Might be quicker on performance packed models with the diff
Think the fiesta is about 6.9
