Power cut again!
61,000 homes blackout!
I was told by an engineer insider it was going to happen!
Interesting how people are reacting.

Community all helping each other round here. Guess it's the good thing about being northern, we know our neighbours and don't ignore people like the south do.

I saw someone on the news today, was inside their ruined house, What i found weird is all the stuff that would normally be on the wall had been chucked into the flood water, like paintings, clocks etc.
I reckon people were waiting for it to happen so they could get money back from insurance for all the tosh they have bought

Everyone needs someone to blame, I see today people are trying to blame it on the spending cuts.
You cant control the weather no matter how much you spend. Building more flood barriers compounds the problem and just pushes more elsewhere further down streams

I would like to retract my previous statements. All over the news now but rightly so I think. Marginally better than hearing about the bombing of Syria.

They'll be building 30ft flood defences next.
Check Canvey island for an idea how Carlisle will look in the near future. Massive concrete flood defences everywhere, like so:

Must they now consider having the defences almost all the way to the river end? I tend to agree that building defences in certain places just moves flooding to other areas.

I'm looking forward to all the money raised by from the song Bono and Bob geldoff are writing for the
