Be interesting to see how the help to buy scheme works
Not being funny but surely you would have had more than 13k deposit living at home for all those years - you had no out goings surely
Also hope you have a 25 year term
Not trying to sound funny by the way genuinely pleased for you both
Happy times ahead

Looks really nice Steve!
Help to buy seems good, but I'm surprised there's no threshold. Surely if you can afford the initial mortgage payments for £200k then you don't need help to buy?
Seems a bit wrong? Although it may be due to house prices where you are being high? Seems a bit mad first timers getting "help" into £270k houses.
Don't blame you for taking the option though.

We used HTB - basically 5% Deposit, 20% Equity Loan, 75% Mortgage.
You get 5 years from date of completion of Interest Free on the 20% loan, after which interest is added.
If you don't pay off the loan, the balance (by percentage) is taken on sale of the property. Ie, if you have 10% of the loan outstanding at time of selling, you pay 10% of your sale figure/equity to clear the balance, regardless of if house value has risen/fallen.
Mortgages are in most cases 25yr and can be Repayment types only.

mine was the same. They say they don't bother as most people go for sky etc. As Gary said, screw fx and signal tester.
In fact I think there is a phone app actually
guessing you wont need a tv license if you have no aerial?

Mainly advantage is the deposit. We only had to find 13k which is 5%

Thats good, council house people can generally afford all the posh stuff anyway given the amount of money gets thrown at them for having kids and not working

I am expecting a professional painter, and high flying insurance company sales person with letters after their names to own something very large in Windsor area.

We had all the wiring in the loft and aerial points in rooms but no aerial on the roof. I paid an aerial engineer £60 including the aerial to fit one. Cba getting into the roof. Had no big ladders too.

Insides decorated, just need to start with features, new spindals, doors. Kitchen needs new fronts on the units and work tops. Chris C has done all our carpets and laminate.
Best thing is I have a man cave full of 420
