He has probably never driven one, just dislikes Land Rover for probably a stupid reason.
Looks nice imo but wouldve gone for dark leather each to their own.

If you can, see if you can reduce the initial payment.
If it gets written off early on, you loose that initial deposit, I know it is unlikely, but if someone smashes into it after 2 weeks, byebye 2.5k

Meh if it writes a £35k car off with high residual value... £2.5k will be the least of my worries

I wouldn't touch an evqoue with a barge pole, enough of them come into our workshop for poor alignment of panel issues tailgates especially with the electronic boot opener (hinges bend as the electric struts pull it shut too tight)
Jumped up freelander with a new name
Poor build quality from what iv see and also god help you with the land rover after sales department
The land rover dealers I have to work with are all retards and all I see is them pissing off their customers with poor service overall
If you want a decent 4x4 that's new I'd sooner get an Audi Q3 or Q5, better made and much better after sales service

I don't think he's buying it for 4x4 capability (he's getting the fwd version), but the Audi Q series (as nice as they are) aren't decent 4x4's.

Fair enough...just dont buy an Evoque
4x4 or not, i doubt its going off road. Toe to toe Q series Audis are better than the Evqoue and have better aftersales service imo

Nice to read someone else has similar views on the evoque as I did. Most people will be blinded by the brand name which is a shame.

A Q series Audi doesn't have the same image that John wants. Argument over.

Id actually prefer the q series's looks wise... Again though, they arent really the "in" car of the moment....
She wants an evoque because its an evoque..... Nothing to do with how it drives, aftersales or how economic or practical it is

Not the first time I've said this and it wont be the last, women just NEED these types of cars in their lives but they cant even park them never mind drive them.
When I see people driving a basic spec evoque I feel sorry for them as the only image I see is someone whos trying to make themselves look better when really they look like a fool for paying silly money for an ugly car.
A friend of mine bums BMW and I asked him why he loves them so much and in short it came down to image, but its how he imagined people looked at him not how people actually look at him.

Taylor you need to put your foot down with your other half on this one
Just because its popular or trendy doesnt make it a good car you should tie yourself into
I laugh at how many people think that Land Rovers are bullet proof these days, sadly not the case, poorly made, unreliable, trying to keep up with better built cars but tech wise they arent up to par. Again still hiding behind the Land Rover badge because famous people drive them
I feel sorry for people who have to come to the dealers i pop into for their cars to be serviced...no more than a bus garage with a LR badge over the door but have to down to warranty being invalid otherwise...absolute dirty cave workshop area compared to porsche/audi ones iv seen where you can eat your dinner off the workshop floor (not that id want to either way lol)
Even the top end range rovers that cost 90k+ have poor panel alignment, lost count how many had the front doors rubbing on the front wings and edge of the bonnet when you open them that i have had to sort out
Much better cars out there than these jumped up freelanders
