I really wanna get Xbox Live now but I need help!
We have Broadband downstairs which is on my Dad's work line, he plugs into it his laptop when he's working and we just unplug it and plug it into our home computer when we want to surf the web etc.
Am I right in thinking I need to buy a Wireless Router so I can connect to Xbox Live upstairs in my room? And also could we have it so my Dad's laptop and our home computer can both be connected at the same time so we don't have to keep unplugging it like we do at the moment?
Any help appreciated

You would need a Wireless Router as well as Wireless Network cards for any computers you wanted to connect to the network (including your 360)

If you buy a router i have a lynksys one for a ntl cable modem. That has 4 ethernet ports out the the back so your dads laptop and pc can be connected to it using ethernet cables.
Then u need to buy a wireless adapter for your xbox (£60) and plug it in.

Thanks for the replies. So I don't need network cards then? I don't need our computer or laptop connected wireless, they can be connected with cables.
What I was thinking was the phone line would be connected to the router, then from the router would be 2 cables, 1 going to the home computer and the other to my Dad's laptop. Then use the wireless connection to connect to my Xbox upstairs. Would that work?
Sorry if I'm sounding a bit thick

Yes that would work. What internet provider are you with? Just make sure that the router accepts the internet you have (adsl or cable modem) and that is has 2 ethernet ports
