Thanks guys!
John, the sportex system I have at the moment pops and bangs like nobodys business. Sean B who has the same janspeed system is the complete oposite. Very quiet just driving normally but sounds amazing when you give it some. Might be a different story with if I was to use the straight through though
Shaun, I love it! Cant wait to get it fitted now, should help the handling a bit as well

Wooly, not sure to be honest mate. Theres a big difference between the 1.0 one and the GSI one though
Dale, the 1.6 will be plenty quick enough for me

Cheers Daz! Thanks for taking the time to read it all as well
Done a couple of bits and bobs today while I was off college
The first thing I did was some more tidying in the engine bay. Just done another small section down ther bottom of the bay to tidy it up and protect it. I sanded the rust back to the metal then treated it and sprayed it as before. You wont see any of this when the engines in but I'd rather have it all nice
Just got to do the other side now and then its ready for the engine to go in!
The next thing I did was to start the undersealing. Done both rear arches so far They were done in white before but tbh they are a pain in the arse that colour! Impossible to keep clean and let the car down I thought so I decided to do them in black this time
Before
After, must better i think!
Finally I've started with my hoses. I've fitted my new breather hose and cleaned all my ancilary hoses so they are minty mint! Gave them a flash over with some silicone spray after and they look as good as new. They will be fitted tommorrow hopefully. Also refitted the EGR vavle back on with a new gasket and blanking plate
My drive shafts, power steering rack and gearbox have now all been painted as well, ill try and get some pics tommorrow of those. Next thing to paint is my engine mounts then its pretty much good to go tbh now Exciting stuff!
