I have been currently using the trek but it costs a lot of speed and shakes your teeth out on the bumpier ones

Yeah I have one. I have a cube ams 120 race 29er. I started out renting bikes when I went out with mates and to be honest I wasn't feeling it. So much so I was thinking of fucking this mountain bike lark off tbh. Then a mate who rides a 29er suggested trying one which I did. For me it was a revelation. So much so within two weeks I'd bought one.
Now people have this idea they fly up hills and I have to strongly disagree. I find the absolute opposite. The gearing due to the larger size of the wheel is always higher and in turn harder to grind up the hills and getting them round tight switchbacks is more difficult. Downhill they are smoother which suits my poor old body and bones and due to the larger wheel size you need less suspension travel.
I've done the sensible think and I tried before I bought and got what suited me. I will say that I would've had a pop on a 650b if they'd been available as I reckon that would've been the compromise between the two wheel sizes. But for fucks sake man you're sounding to me like you want to buy one on looks above anything else?

I am pretty much going to buy the one i think looks nice..
You may think thats silly, but a shimano gtjsbdbu6283816 vs a fucking rockshox yekdbd6844 means fuck all to me..
Internet says its well specced - has more travel than my trek, has a cool pop up seat, looks nice - meh probs sleep on it - get the mother to measure me up tomorrow then get it ordered

im 6ft the size guide for the 650b said I need a medium but the spectral does come up a little on the small side so I bought a large and its bang on I cant say for sure what the 29er is like as they have not been out as long as the 650b so not heard much about them tbh.

£2350, but to be fair I'd been renting bikes at least once a week for six months at £30 a pop. So the guy kinda loves me. I get mega discount on everything now which is nice..

I'm now looking at a Scott Scale 760. No-one seems to have the Cube LTD SL in stock for me to try for size.

So my ride today in bike park south central.
http://www.strava.com/activities/145427598
Sadly no pictures of my legs, as you have to pay to see them.
But a picture of my bike, getting dirty in southern mud
Some hills/my playground a couple of miles from home
and a random huge catapillar that had made a home on a wooden post
