update - ordered some 195/50r15 yoko parada spec 2's today on the work account for my steelies which im going to paint white. im looking for a std post97 front bumper if anyones got one?

I thought he'd built the engine himself each time?

I'm not knocking you James, but I think if you do it right once, it'll be ok, and if you don't, you'll regret not doing it, and not finding out just how good it would be

its been built twice. the first rebuild was spot on, all was well untill i fitted that new blasted cover! lol o well we all learn.

im looking for quotes on getting the bottom end sent away, overbored, new pistons, crank reground with oversized bearings and built up again

surely its should be constant not just cold it the bottom end not just when cold

it rattles only when cold for about 2mins then as soon as u take it to 3000rpm it shuts up. need to get the car back home and take the sump off

sounds like piston slap to me, mine does it very slightly from cold and mines been rebored and had new pistons, all my old xe's did it. i wouldnt worry about it.

can seen it being the bottom end as it would do it when hot with thinner oil

oh and wheels look

more progress on the steelies!

2 are all done and tyres fitted, just need to get my stickers made up for them, and i will finish spraying the other 2 tomorrow.

going to pick my car up tonight so i'll see if i can get a video of the rattle my car makes also
